Well… we did the thing. We bought a house. It’s pretty sweet, charming, probably haunted, and it now eats all the money. So it's time to part with these.
I purchased the set from lmtlsauto in June of 2024 and they have never been mounted.

So, according to the parts manager, no "updated tank" exists. The part numbers are identical for both the Type R and Type S. The tank is manufactured in England, and there appears to have been some sort of spotty production flaw. Honda is aware, but has yet to issue an official recall.
I'm not quite sure yet. That is just what the tech relayed to me over the phone. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some additional information regarding the "updated" tank.
Well a little update. Just took it in today and was told by the master tech that Honda is aware of the issue. They are providing me with a loaner until the updated tank arrives mid January.
Just moved the car out of my driveway this morning and noticed coolant on the ground. I looked at the back of the tank and coolant was pooling up in the back corner of the reservoir. No mods whatsoever on the car and just turned 900 miles. This is rather disheartening to be honest.
Thank you. No trade-in involved. Oh man, when I called them about their car, they told me 25k over. I asked if they were joking, and they told me they would just let the car sit.
After searching and checking Motoring Obsession nonstop for several months, surprisingly, I found the cheapest car in my backyard (Seattle, Wa.). I saw it in transport, made an offer, and got it for $53,334 out the door. Ceramic coating, theft protection, and all-season Type R mats added.
Right on. Well congratulations on the car! Your salesman took me aside to ask if I knew you and if I too used Motoring Obsession. He said the way we went about things was very very similar. haha
