I figured every 4,000 miles with Mobil 1 OW-20 and OEM oil filter, and call it a day.
This way, I never have to worry about anything else. I usually purchased a 6-pack (1 Quart) from Costco, delivered on sale for about $5.60 per quart.
Oil changes would be approximately every 4 months...
I wanted to update everyone on the 2024 Honda Civic 1.5 Turbo.
Originally, I had changed the oil at 2,339 miles as part of a break-in. New oil and filter, and exactly 3.7 quarts, and that is what came out. No oil smell or even a surplus after the drain.
Skip ahead to 6,749 miles, or 4,410...
Do not go overboard with washing your vehicle. Wash no more than monthly, and be careful to use clean wash mitts, towels, etc. as to minimize scratches. Keep soft microfiber towels and 2 spray bottles in a car at times, with wipes. Bird droppings or other items like sap can damage the cars...
Does anyone know where decals that can cover the bottom rocker (long plastic piece) under both doors can be found? I know there are many decals for the doors and companies online that sell vinyl decals. This is specific only to the bottom. There is a little damage (small like 1/2" by 2") that I...
Even though I purchased the lens (like $14), the probability of me going after this is slim to none unless I can find someone to take this apart for under $100 in labor.
I have allowed the dust to settle on the glass and not touch it, making the scratches not visible. I guess the rough winter...
I check my oil monthly and use a white paper towel. Fold the towel over the orange area, press the towel against the oil, towards the edge, and fold it back with the dipstick still on the bottom of the towel. You can tell by the towel if you are low on oil or have an oil dilution problem. I have...
I received a notification on the app. It's a brand new 2024 Civic with 6,500 miles. It's finally going in for its first oil change at 20% (Dealer Cost), but I changed it at 2,433 miles, so it's still okay. I'm not crazy about these extended oil changes.
I asked the dealer about the recall, and...
Vehicles in the last 10+ years will always have paint defects if you look at them close enough, or from certain angles. I have seen specks of dirt under the clear, and paint imperfections. 99% of the time one must leave it alone.
This looks like some bubbling from the paint. The probability...
What did you remove to get to this area? I just ordered the cluster lens for the 2024. I will probably pay someone to do the job (auto places) that install and do work like this, as I do not want to risk damaging anything. Or even an auto body. For now, I am dealing with the small scratches, but...
I read an article once that Lexus uses extra foam on each door and inside the trim panels for noise. Additionally, the headliner and carpet. Lastly, all the dash areas have noise-cancelling materials as well.
This makes all the sense in the world. I know my Honda rattles here and there. The...
I spoke to my dealer, and they stated that people do come in for an oil change early when the car is new. They do the oil changes at 2,000-3,000 miles, but I would have had to pay. The service department knew nothing about break in oil (maybe there is). I waited until 2,443 miles and changed my...
I purchased 3 of the # 3 screws/bolts and 4 of the others, plus an OEM Oil Filter for about $27. So it was not that bad. I wanted OEM. Looked online and shipping is about the same.
What is more interesting, was the oil change at 2,443 miles. The car did not burn any oil. 3.5 Quarts came out...
I tried searching, but no luck. I just changed the oil on the 2024 1.5 Touring. There were 4 screws and 4 # 3 screws. I am looking for extra pieces. The front 2 appeared kind of (not stripped), but like someone already tried to remove them, which is strange as the car is brand new. I know to...
I have to circle back to this. The CVT fill plug on the 1.5 Turbo is accessible and easy to get to. Draining cold, measuring, and filling cold may be best, especially if no leaks. Yes, it may not be filled properly at the factory, but I would hope so.
My nephew has a 2023 and it is hidden...
It's a slight angle, but I get it. Allow to warm up a little until it spills over. Where is the fill area inside the engine compartment? I will upload pictures of both areas in question later today.
Given the consensus is to wait until 15% before changing the oil and filter or 5,000 miles, does it make sense to just swap out the oil filter with an OEM?
I picked one up this morning ready to change at 2,000 miles, but I think this will have to wait. At 80% and a tad under 1,500 miles. I...
