Does the recall need to be done if you already had an updated steering rack installed due to the "sticky steering" issue?

Maybe, it depends if Honda knew and implemented the long term fix at the time of replacement. Affected owners will get a recall letter in the mail. It will take Honda many months to fix 3 years worth of car production.

i also wonder if you already have the "sticky steering" problem, if this recall would fix it.

I received a notification on the app. It's a brand new 2024 Civic with 6,500 miles. It's finally going in for its first oil change at 20% (Dealer Cost), but I changed it at 2,433 miles, so it's still okay. I'm not crazy about these extended oil changes.

I asked the dealer about the recall, and she said that they have to order the part on a first-come, first-served basis.
