If you redline 3rd gear and slam it into 2nd gear your engine is gone. This is what most people call the money shift. This is why it's so important to learn the proper technique for shifting. If you're shifting gears using the same hand position for each gear it's only a matter of time before you do it yourself.
that's the general warranty. but the powertrain warranty is 60k miles. don't let the dealer convince you otherwise...I could be incorrect. I have a CTR and Accord Touring. Both have 3yr/36k, whichever comes first, for the warranty period.
And again, my whole hypothesis with the OPs Si is purely that, an educated guess.
