It’s just pure profit for the dealer. You get absolutely nothing for that extra money. It’s the stupid tax to get the car basically 🤷🏻‍♂️😏
Omg that's terrible. Atlwast here in Canada when u get raped u get tints, PPF and rust proofing etc.

Yep. There are dealers out there that don’t do it, but that was pre-Covid. Now even those guys are starting to do it. Unless you have an in with a dealer or work for the company, the regular Joe has to take it in the shorts if you want the car. The ripple effects of that over the last 2-3 years has completely changed the game of car buying.

If you don’t pay it, the guy behind you will. It sucks. After I get taken to the cleaners, then I get to go drop another $2-3K on PPF and the accessories that I actually want. Some of the accessories they force on you are useful, like tint or all weather mats. But most of it is BS paint warranties or “nitrogen filled” tires. Lots of Crap.

Having called so many dealers, it’s sucks having to constantly listen to them “explain” to you why they are going to rape the hell out of you.

Yessir.

I got an email the other day from one of the biggest Honda dealers in DFW touting how they “will not” charge ADMs on any car that leaves their lot.

Me: Oh really 🤔

Them: Oh…that email, that was for all our cars accept the Type R and Si. Those we are going to charge $5-10K + on.

Me: Hmmm…that’s not what your email said 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, I’m in DFW too and I hear ya, I’ve talked to probably 20+ dealers around here. I started talking to a lot back in January, and I feel like I’ve got a few that have me at the top of their list to reach out once allocations hit…we will see how that plays out in real life once they actually do.

Out of curiosity, for USA markups does this include dealer packages like tints that the markup can be rolled into $$ wise. Or is it straight cash out of pocket, no added value in products.
It’s just cash. I’m going to see what I can negotiate when the time comes. I would really only want the wing and they don’t have official catalog or pricing for US yet. I put a lot of thought into this and I expect it to be nearly impossible to get it for MSRP in the current market conditions.

I’m right there with you brother. I’m being told the same thing about being at the top of the list…fingers crossed we get some call backs 🤞🏼

What color are you hoping for if you get your pick?

If I have any say, I want Boost Blue then CW. Sonic and Red are tied for third. Black will require me to wrap the entire car. I hate black.

I’m pretty much the same. I really want CW, then Boost Blue, Sonic, and Red. I will never own another black car again. Lol

Question is, did the email have any fine print?
I didn’t see any asterisk or fine print 🤷🏻‍♂️. But when I called, the sales guy I spoke too said something along the line of “Ahh I hate when they send those emails out…it always causes issues” and then preceded to tell me the Si and CTR will have a mark up. The CTR being a higher mark up due to the “rarity” yada yada yada.

Before you resume shopping, a quick note from the General Manager.
As we embark into the second half of the year, I hope you had a blessed year so far. It has come to my attention many local dealerships are adding market adjustments to their vehicles, significantly increasing their price. No car on our lot at David McDavid Honda Frisco will carry a market adjustment.

Many prefer fresh starts, and it's not too late to do so even as we head into the final part of the year. Please reach out to a team member if you are looking to enjoy the remainder of 2022 in a new vehicle. We have one of the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex's most extensive inventories and a stellar customer service-driven team to answer your vehicle-related questions.

After calling 7 dealerships in the houston area, found one taking reservations that will charge only MSRP, TTL, AND any dealer installed accessories. Is the last part where they can tack on a lot of money? First time buying a new car so I’m not sure what to expect.
