So I was watching more 2023 videos and saw this. Look close. It was at 13:47-13:50 of Raiti’s vid.

I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere else…what do you think? Looks like C1 to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Officially 330PS in Japan, which translates to 325hp (unofficial) elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with the engine. Just runs a little hot on warm days and needs better heat extraction on the FK8. Hopefully the new hood vent and roomier front engine compartment will fix this issue on the FL5.

Quite a few first look media sites looked at the engine code. It's the same engine w/ supposedly a more efficient turbo. Hopefully this keeps that IAT's down a little bit and allowed them to possibly up the boost slightly to get the 'most powerful Honda' title. There's simply no reason to invent a new ICE motor when all Civic's are going to be hybrid or electric next generation. The entire world's internal combustion engine's set for car's are simply getting refinements as within 4-8 years they're all shelved for hybrid or hydrogen motors.

Still wondering what the rectangular area is above the air inlet pipe to the turbo...

It’s flat and gets toasty hot. I can think of a few culinary uses. 🤣

I do wish that they'd modify the engine architecture to sound a bit better. On the FK8, there is no way to make the K20C1 sound good. Your exhaust note choices are Nothing, Terrible, or Acceptable.

Hard to harmonize a four cylinder, but at least it doesn't sound like the latest Toyota AXA A54 family of tractor sounding engines they're currently putting in everything they make, in one form or another.
