Ive had half a dozen dash cams and still cant find a reliable one. Tried cheap ones all the way to Owl Cam, Ring, and Escort which were over $200. Owl Cam was great but they ran out of business. They are running again but I dont trust them. The Escort dash cam is a pain in the ass to access videos.
I've never had a dash cam but always thought, perhaps misguided, that Blackvue was the gold standard. Thoughts?

The new standard of dashcams now is the ability to access the vehicles live view. While it's a great feature I have yet found a reliable one that works. As I type this right now the Ring Dashcam is offline. even though it's plugged into my OBD Port.

When I was using the Escort dash cam I would have to disconnect my Apple Car Play and connect through the Escorts Wifi with the vehicle on to access the video clips.

At this point I would rather have a dash cam that would let me access video clips without any issues. I don't need the live view.

Do you have any thoughts on the Thinkware U3000?
I do not.

I also do not have any comments about the Blackvue. However both of those brands are dedicated dash cam companies. I think my issue is that I'm getting "experimental" products from Ring and Escort. I think I might just have to go back to companies that only make dash cams. One thing that I would recommend is some sort of dedicated power source such as a OBD2 or mirror wire tap. I hate wires taking up the center console.
