Looking to replace the fronts and rears with Polk 652's and just leave the stock tweeters and head unit.
Worth it??
More questions:
In the menu that lets you temporarily turn off "EQ," (until you start the car next time) what exactly is that equalizing? Is it just something that is supposedly correcting deficiencies in the stock speakers? Or maybe flattening out the response due to the construction of the cabin?
If you change speakers, is that "EQ" going to mess up the sound of the replacements that maybe don't need "correcting?"

I replaced just my speaker with Herz ones, totally worth the money. 500€ and much better sound.

Thanks for the reply. Glad it's working well. I decided on Infinity Primus 6510CS component speakers instead of the Polk coaxials. They are currently in a wrapped box under the Christmas tree. Hoping for some nice weather next week to get out and install. They sounded great on the Crutchfield comparison website. We'll see!

Yes, the Infinity 6510s are in and sound very good. Plenty of highs and good bass (but I think I may yet go with one of those under-the-seat subwoofers to finish it off). The new speakers are definitely "cleaner" than the stock units. (They weigh 3 times as much.) You can turn the receiver all the way up and there's no distortion...and that is VERY loud :) Normal listening level for me is about 12 to 22.
This is all with the stock head unit. You really have to play with the bass/mid/treble controls to get something that sounds right due to the built in Honda EQ curve which apparently is not kind to bass...which may be the reason I'm considering a sub. I've added bass on the settings and cut both mids and highs to get a pleasant sound that works for me.
