As a 10th Gen owner, if I weren't going to tune a newer Honda, I do think I'd have more interest for the Hybrid Civic than a CVT Integra. (Let's not go off-roading on CVT instead of MT- I'm getting to the pt).
That said, what sort of performance improvements are possible in the future? I'm talking legit performance, not mods that increase sounds or aesthetics.

I assume there is little to gain from modding/tuning the Atkinson Engine. But, what about the electric bits of the hybrid powertrain? Is there a control unit, accessible via a standard bus protocol, that's not encrypted- leaving the door open for something analogous to ECU Tuning?

Aside from the 2025 Civic not having released yet, and bearing in mind it's not the first vehicle to receive a hybrid makeover... that I haven't stumbled upon a bunch of hybrid modding stuffs online (certainly not standardized things similar to say Civic Tuning) brings more questions...

Is the reason there are not mainstream hybrid tuning routes due to it simply being unfeasible? Is it because tuning is a niche evolved expertise with standardized product offerings confined to ICE's because the folks doing the work to enable it only do engines? Would an endeavor like hybrid tuning need a convergence with something of the realm of computer hardware overclocking?
On the face, it seems possible to me... from an uninvolved 30k ft level. At the least, physical or software mods could mutate state values and paired with mods like battery cooling and capacity expansion, shunts applied to VRMs and current regulators (along with beefier conductors) could overdrive motors.
What does our future hold?
I just don't think swimming in an ever-shrinking pond, consolidating around higher trims like an Si or R that continue (for the time being) to provide a traditional powertrain platform has enough runway, nor does the inherently higher buy-in allow for the same masses of folks to get engaged, to sustain open communities of like-minded folks such as we have today.

Thoughts? Inklings of what our future holds? If there isn't a broadly available way forward, I forsee custom shops perhaps offering expensive upgrade to future cars/platforms, but aside from buying up recent ICE Models, an absence of DIY and a proverbial death of owners that tinker and have standard tooling to extract the greater performance from a product that is one of the largest aspects of modding and tuning I for one enjoy and cherish the most.

From what I was told by a tuner. Engine tuning is limited to the weak motor only and not much power is attainable unfortunately. The engine is weak. It's basically a juiced up generator with good fuel economy.

Do quality of life and visual mods and that's about it.
I will say for the cabin noise it is definitely one of the most quiet cars I've ever driven with on the highway, which is nice for the long trips.

High performance hybrid vehicles are being tuned for years now. We do lots of Cayenne Hybrids, 330E, and many others.

In most cases it´s possible to increase the power on the elctric motor as well.

I'm new here and haven't purchased yet, but wouldn't a pedal tuner help mitigate throttle lag? No real power gain but some pedal response improvement if the hybrid needs it.

I think Honda's e-diff has great potential and I hope they explore higher performance hybrids.

Best performance upgrade would be lightweight wheels. Don't waste $ on a pedal commander.
