As the title stated, my car was involved in a slow speed rear end where the other driver was completely at fault.
At the time of accident, the car had less than 800 miles on the dash. I attached photos below at the time of accident.
The fixes include new rear bumper cover, new rear diffuser, repainted hatch.
How much do you think i should demand for diminish value with the at fault insurance company. Chat GPT told me to start at 2500 and come down from there.

Accidents always look really bad, I'd start a little higher. You gotta think about what a future owner would think hearing accident on a car thats meant to go fast. It might be cosmetic, but it just introduces so many what-ifs

Just FYI. When I used to have a Miata, I got rear ended. Just a bumper cover repair and repaint. Much cheaper car than Type R with much more minor repair. I started $2k+ and got only $500. Maybe I could have gotten more if I was willing to spend more time, but I didn't have enough motivation. $2500 is almost the same as what I started for just a bumper cover repair for much cheaper car, I'd go much higher than that. But I'm not an expert. I have no idea how much it should start at.

Chat GPT said theres a formula and it is now that it should settle around $1200 or more. Not sure how true this is but Ill try and aim for 2k.

There are online calculators and if you have a good dealer they can provide you with a letter to support your claim. We just went through this with my GF's BMW. $10k in damages on a 2025. Damage looked very minor and barely noticeable from 10ft away, but new cars rack up repair cost quick! Ended up with $2k for diminished value.

Good intel, Just finished the repair, it was only 3300 in damages. Trying to claim diminished value on this.

$3,300 is not bad. Do you know what was repaired? "The fixes include new rear bumper cover, new rear diffuser, repainted hatch." as in the original post?
