Maybe switching to 18" will give you the comfort you are looking for.
will NOT give up the FL5, it is a rare opportunity to own one.

Evening, šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Bros.

My 1st post. Fromer FK8 owner
Hello to All
It’s definitely not a ride quality thing at all. I could drive it in +R mode all day long and it wouldn’t bother me in the least.

And yes I’ve been extremely fortunate to have been one of the first people to actually own and experience the car. That hasn’t been lost on me at all.

Not that it’s not a possibility but the odds that I’ll track it are slim to none. So I guess my thought process is that if someone who would actually utilize a CTR for it’s intended purposes is being forced to by a ITS because they can’t get there hands on the Civic….

As much as I know the long term value of the Type R the truth is is that this car is really just a segway to either a Cayman or 911.

I do really love the car though!

Well this is interesting. Used Type R for sale in Toronto area listed for $89,995.

Definitely not a Canadian model since we don't get boost blue so I'm wondering if this one got imported from the USA.

Saw an update from someone in Quebec that their dealer told them their car is on the boat on the way to Vancouver for a mid-June delivery. No VIN though. This seems to be inline with what others are saying here. I’m next to receive at my dealer, contacted them yesterday but no news. They’re supposed to contact Honda Canada Monday, we’ll see, hopefully they confirm same and we can look forward to the next batch coming in.

there is quite a lot of people who got their type R in the states for 5-7k mark up
The final price is around 50-52k usd and convert to cad 68k
Still cheaper than local dealer who are asking 80k

FYI there a dealer in Ottawa have Fl5 CW in stock and are refusing to sell it, and to top it off there not take any deposits to order one. I really feel the dealer all playing games with us to bring the price up to the market . It’s totally unreal and not acceptable in my opinion I feel it’s all about the greed and knowing the right peoplešŸ˜”

If you offer them 80k, I’m sure they will sell

When my Type R arrived back in Feb, my sales rep wanted me to take delivery the very next day. She was worried someone else (I'm thinking higher up) at the dealership would hijack the car/sale if they found out. She expressly kept the car under wraps in storage until the afternoon I picked it up.

That’s seriously messed up. No wonder I got bumped down the line despite originally being second in line at my dealer. Glad you got yours, sadly the FL5 ship has sailed unless by miracle they decide to pump out a few more of these in future years and allow direct purchase so as not to get screwed over by dealers. I am allocated one of the first ITS which is a cool car in its own right but I really want the FL5. First world problems lol.

Thank you brother, I lucked out on my salesperson batting for me.
If not the Type R, hope you get the Type S. The sound system is gonna be wicked!

Took delivery of #5466 on Thursday :)

Same saga as many others with the car being delayed a few months, then sitting at the port for a several weeks. No time wasted, 600kms already in 4 days, should be past the 1,500kms mark in 2 weeks.

Took the 265/30R19's off with less than 100kms on them, the 401 would've surely destroyed them. Temporary setup is 265/40R18 Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires with Superspeed 18x9.5+38 wheels. Sits pretty flush with the body at stock height, zero rub with 4 passengers and trunk full. This setup will go back on the FK8 when we can get our hands on a set of 18x9.5 +45 wheels and 275/35 tires

Are we time traveling back to pre-FL5 analysis here lmao.

We ALL know the current limitations of allocations to Canada and ROW.

Dead horse as mentioned above..... If you don't have 1 of the possible max of 4-6 dealership allocations (over next 3 model years) you will be buying the FL5 used or an ITS (those are all pretty much called for also). No way around it.
ITS all called for ? I mean… its a product made in USA, for the USA and Canada… nobody ever said it was going to be limited compared to the FL5 that has always been a limited edition and is sold worldwide. Pretty sure it will be much more available. Acura don’t sell enough car as a brand to not sell an ITS to everybody that wants one… TLX don’t sell well, RDX had succes but its pretty calm right now… MDX are expensive for what they are and the Integra in Canada is a terrible deal compared to an SI. Of course, not everybody will get one in June, but I’m pretty sure it won’t be as crazy as the FL5… except maybe in a few market like Vancouver where everything seems crazy these days…

Although this car, but fuel to the fire of the situation in Canada, but it looks like in this country it will be almost impossible to get one anybody know of a way for me to buy one in the US and bring it over, I called the dealer cross the border and they told me they cannot sell me the car as it is considered exportation and is illegal for them to do it by the rules of Honda America, if someone knows how to do it, please let me know
