When I press the clutch in the noise goes away might be hard to tell from the video it’s not obnoxiously loud just a steady chatter somewhat sounds like a throw out bearing noise. Car only has 700 miles on it not sure if it’s just a normal noise on this platform. Also when taking off in 1st gear 1,700rpm or so it sounds chattery sometimes more than others.

Bad throwout bearings generally make whiring noise with the pedal pressed (clutch disengaged).

I find it normal to hear more transmission noise in neutral with the clutch engaged in a variety of cars and motorcycles. Without load, the gears slap around a bit due to engine firing pulses. It doesn't hurt anything.

Appreciate the input, my last manual transmission in a car was 15 years ago and I did have a bad throw out bearing but it’s hard to recall the sound I just remember the symptoms were similar. On motorcycles it’s much harder to tell with all the different engine noises and components in such a small area.

I have had the same noise and under the same conditions for as long as I can recall (27k on the odo now). I think what we are hearing is just gearbox chatter since there’s no load on anything in neutral, and we have a lightweight, single mass flywheel that does nothing to dampen those sounds. I wouldn’t worry about it.
