I ran mine at 29-30ish psi cold since the track was super hot but that was here in FL.

Settled on 34psi when hot.

Nothing worse than breaking a stud at an event without having a back up. 😪
3 seized at Nationals back in 2019...had to go to O'reily's and buy some generic ones to swap out. At least FK8(and I hope FL5 too) you can get the studs in and out without taking the hub off...

Swapped all of the stud after the local later had more seized then I stopped using impact to torque/detorque them....

Just a FYI, Apex sells BS legal wheels and is having a huge sale right now.
I see them, unfortunately there is only one color and one size in stock that would work right now. Price is definitely enticing

Hopefully Apex does come out with something FL5 Type R specific eventually. The recent small group buy from Titan 7 I did jump on, but I also ordered something else too so I can get dailying set as well..

For track days I have Paragon P7 pads for the fronts. I am doing my first autocross in the FL5 Sunday. Thoughts on running stock front pads vs P7 for autocross?

I never messed with pads on my FK8, ran through I think 3 sets of stock Honda(Brembo) pads. No real complaints aside from being super dusty and wears pretty fast. Would be nice if there are less dusty option that doesn't sacrifice pad performance.

Thats with no tracking, I'd likely swap rotor and pads if I actually track this car...

Stock pads work great for autox. Once I changed from Kumho V730s to RE71RS I found myself wanting a bit more threshold braking. I am currently using CSG CP pads and they are amazing! A bit more bite than stock, a wide window of modulation for trail braking, and stronger threshold braking. Plus they are quiet on the street with medium levels of dust.

First SCCA autocross this past weekend. This was my first AX event in the FL5 and I had only done 2 events previous and they were 25+ years ago. Car was completely stock on PS4s. I was registered in the novice class which had all novice regardless of car class and was ranked via PAX.

Car did amazingly well and in my opinion was very easy to drive quickly without getting out of control. I was a course worker in the first heat which is a huge advantage as you get to see where others are making mistakes. Used chalk on the sidewalls and ran 35 cold psi all around. Based on the chalk I did not make any tire pressure changes. Only had 4 runs and my times went from 56.9, 54.1, 52.7 and finally 51.975. The first runs were just figuring out what the car was capable of - there was defiantly time to be had with more experience.

I took first in the novice group which had 29 entrants including a CTS4 Blackwing, 22 GT500, and 2010 Jag XFR (also BS). Was 2nd in BS. First was a 23 GR Corolla on 200TW tires who had run it all last season. He ran a 49.924 to my 51.975. I thought 2 seconds back was pretty good considering my lack of experience and the tire difference. On a 50 sec course how much of a time difference will 200TW tires make??

I am signed up for event #2 next month and a 2 day HPDE event at Hedge Hollow (just south of Kansas City) in June. I have a GoPro (AKASO actually) on order so I will have video in the future.
