Die is relative lol I drove on Mickey thompson et street drag radials in 40 degrees and rain before and did not dieWhat are some good tire recs for someone who wants to autox but not die in the rain when commuting?
Honestly it depends on your tolerance for sketchy when it comes to driving in the rain, and how competitive you want to be. The PS4S that the FL5 comes on is a phenomenal rain tire, and frequently used for torrential downpour autocross events, but is no where near the front when it comes to dry grip. If you're new to autocross, I would just start on those. No need to buys something new, especially when youre still learning the fundamentals. I started autocrossing on some Walmart all season specials. However, If you want to be the most competitive as possible, the new Bridgestone Potenza RE71RS was the best tire that Tire Rack has ever tested in the wet. What are some good tire recs for someone who wants to autox but not die in the rain when commuting?
I've been looking at tire options for a bit and pretty much stuck on 275/30/19 RT660s on oem forged wheels although I haven't pulled the trigger. Still crossing my fingers that tirerack commissions an 18x9.5 et 53 wheel. Anyone have tirerack contacts where we can ask?
I work for an acura dealership that buys a lot from TR lol. Yes I know people on the insideTirerack did it with Motegi for the fk8 you have a contact there? Lol
They don't I went down that path they won't clear the brakes on the FK8 so they won't on the FL5.https://www.apexraceparts.com/store/sale/18x9-5-et58-apex-ec-7r-forged-bmw-wheel.html
