Hello all,

been in the Honda community for a long time (20+yrs) and through it all i have never owned one since new. I’ve never really cared to own a new car but when the FL5 dropped, it completely changed that for me. I’ve dreamt about owning one ever since they came to public and with all my other projects being “projects” my wife and i thought it would be in our best interest to have a fun car that we don’t have to be worried about being stranded on the side of the road. We’re a car household and we have multiple cars, so buying another one makes the most sense right?

The plan is to keep this thing close to stock as possible, however there are already things i need to address in the 3 months i’ve owned it.
1) it’s too quiet, it competes with our Hybrid XC90 for sound in that department and when the gas engine is going, the XC90 outputs more noise than the CTR lol.
2) i’m used to tuned vehicles, so i know there is alot left on the table, there are some minor hesitations and that godforsaken rev hang that just needs to be rememdied.
3) Although i love the way it looks, there needs to be some attention to aesthetics.

so those are the things i will address at some point, not in any rush to do anything as the car scratches all the itches at the moment and i wanna enjoy it as much as i can while it is in this phase. With that said, so far it’s got wheel spacers, tints, ceramic coating and a spoon drop in filter. Here are a few pics

And as mentioned before, there are other projects. I have a 2002 EP3 which has all the CTR/DC5R conversion bits such as brakes and suspension arms, built K24A, skunk2 valvetrain, Ultra 2 cams, Link G4X EMS with Flex, along with a Rotrex C38R setup. No power figures yet as the built motor is still being broken in and waiting to get tuned at the moment

Congrats on the purchase and welcome. "I will keep this one stock (or close to it)..." famous last words. It's too hard to resist modifying this car. I think the position then becomes, "Where will I draw the line on modifications?" The aftermarket support for this car is like something out of the 90s/early 2000s and not something I would've expected from a modern-era car in the current environment. Once you begin reviewing the "What did you do to your FL5 today?" thread, your mind will explode lol. Anyhow, enjoy the car in good health and I look forward to seeing your build.

My problem is i have no choice but to take it easy, i have 3 other projects of my own and my sons have cars as well

2010 Civic SI (built motor, turbo, FD2 converted, AWD on the way)
2006 RSX (built motor, Turbocharged)

and we have other cars too that aren’t modded
