Hey guys I’m gonna be installing a hard wiring kit for my dash cam and it contains a tap a fuse but I don’t quite know what fuses to tap into inside. I’m looking for something that runs power even when vehicle is off? Any ideas

thanks in advance

I had a local Audio shop do it for me. The front was easy- removed A pillar cover and ran wire down to fuse box below the dash. They used 2 tap a fuse connections (one for the constant on and another for the switched on). Very clean and easy. Running the wire to the back for the rear cam was also easy for them. At the back they then ran wire through the wire harness connector from the body to hatch (this is the proper way to do it) to prevent wires from getting pinched and being visible. Only glitch is unlike our 2020 Civic Sport Hatchback- the rear interior panel of the hatch on the 2022 isn't removable- it was on the 2020 models right in the middle. That really sucks!! They were able to bring the wire out on hatch and run along the rear glass (interior) and then used some black sealant to disguise it. Given we have tint - you can't even see it. We made the best out of difficult situation.

Installation is super clean. I'll try to take some pics tonight and post

Hey guys so it went well for me. I ordered a hard wiring kit for my street guardian dash cam. Wired it into the number one 20A fuse, grounded it and everything is good to go. Hardest part was routing and hiding the wires

Thanks for sharing this info. I've been meaning to do the hardwiring myself, and I have seen how it was done on the last generation of Civic hatchbacks, but I could not figure out how to remove the rear interior panel on the 2022 models (and it doesn't based on what you've shared). For the A pillar, did they also pry open the side curtain airbag emblem like in this video? It'd be great if you could share the some pictures when you get a chance.

I don't have pics, but I can share I think the proper way to do it (just like your video link) is to remove that emblem and unscrew the trim piece- that way you can be certain the wire runs behind the airbag and isn't blocking it should it need to be deployed in an emergency. I watched the install shop and they definitely removed the trim, ensured wire was run properly and then reinstalled the trim. I hope this helps.

Can you post a photo and perhaps draw on it showing where wire came out from top of the wire harness connector and how they went sideways to the glass? Since there does not seem to be an internal routing toward car center, when I do it I cross the compression line from the foam rubber gasket around the hatch, so the wire compreses
