Has anyone ever gotten their FL5 towed?

My 2024 Civic type R is currently lowered on H&R Springs. This drops the front by 0.75 inches and the rear by 0.60 inches.

I now need the vehicle towed due to an unforeseen issue with warranty. I'm worried that the tow truck won't have the clearance to get the tow bar hooked onto the front of the vehicle due to the clearance in the front of car. I'm hoping that the tow truck driver would know methods to get the clearance needed to get the front off the ground.

For the people that have had their fl5 towed, how did they tow your car (regular tow truck/flat bed)? Also, how was your experience during the towing process? Any recommendations?

I specifically asked for a flat bed when a rock cut the tire and damaged a wheel in the middle of nowhere. The car clears at stock height.

A decent tow truck driver should be able to see if it's possible to get your car up onto the bed unscratched, unless you are in a dire situation. Why don't you use the tow hook that goes to the back of the car? Is the car drivable?

Had my car towed yesterday due to a blown turbo. I'm lowered on Swift springs with an aeroflodynamics front lip. I was scraping badly, but I figure the H&R springs aren’t as low, so you’ll be fine.

What did they hook up in the front to put it on the flat bed truck?

Sorry to hear about your turbo.

Did they use a regular tow truck or was it a flat bed?

Thankfully I haven't had my vehicle towed yet but maybe if I stop making monthly payments then the towing company will come soon...

I had mine delivered to my house via flat bed without issue.

To reduce the angle of attack we:
  • Used a super-long flatbed typically meant for trucks;
  • Loaded and unloaded at the top of a hill/ramp.
