Anyone ever had this happen? Recently got my ecu back from being unlocked at IMW and decided to try and tune my car today with the TSP Stage 1 tune. I keep getting these error messages saying the ECU lost connection and now my ECU is stuck in recovery mode. Bought the flash pro off of the TSP site and made sure to register for an account and lock it to my car. Already sent Hondata support an email but I guess I’ll have to bum rides off of people and uber to work this week. Thankfully only need to travel 15 minutes each way but still sucks overall.

Is your Flashpro manager software updated to the latest version? Should be 4.4.7.

Yeah I double checked all my software is up to date. Even tried downloading and using flash pro manager on a different laptop but I'm still getting the same issue. About to call my local tuning shop tomorrow and see if they can assist as well.

I've had a lot of issue mostly learning to use hondata. However my tuner is @Jester04 He is very accessible. I've had similar issues and he helped me troubleshoot. I'd suggest getting with a tuner that you can actually get a hold of.

Good morning! I do not see that you have contacted us regarding this issue but I am glad to have come across it here. As you likely suspected this does appear to be a hardware issue. I noticed that the Hondata error message says to check the OBD2 connector pins but do not see mention of you doing that here. If you have not already, please do check the pins on the FlashPro device. I see that the FlashPro device was not purchased from us so I cannot guarantee it's condition but that would be a great place to start, aside from waiting for Hondata support to get in action there on the West Coast.

One other thing you could check are the pins on your ECU connectors. You will want to make sure that none are bent or damaged. While I've never seen a damaged Hondata connector pin, I have seen damaged ECU pins a time or two before.

Hello, thanks for responding! I actually put in a support request with Hondata and I did buy it from you guys albeit under a different email ([email protected]). But I checked the pins and didn’t notice anything crazy out of place (but keep in mind I’m a car noob). For now I called my local tuning shop and towing my car there for them to look at.

Any bent pins would likely be pretty obvious as long as you inspecting all 3 points closely (the FlashPro itself and 2 ECU connectors). My best recommendation would be to wait for Hondata support before involving a third party that may or may not be able to help.

I do see that the device was purchased new within the last few weeks, so it will of course be under warranty if a FlashPro hardware issue is determined.

I will be reaching out to you directly via email to open a direct line of communication where you can reach us quicker than a forum message, as needed.

Yeah I wanted to wait as well but I haven’t been able to drive my car since last Monday when I initially shipped off my ECU to IMW to get it unlocked, and I just can’t keep paying for Ubers/Lyfts and asking friends for rides. I’m taking it to Kinetic Autoworks in Glen Burnie, MD since they’re pretty reputable. It just sucks because I was excited for the TSP Stage 1 tune and this happens šŸ˜”
