Hello Bryan,

I was re-reading your post today. So, you can use the OEM lug nuts for the Alloy wheel on the steel wheel donut spare? I was going to buy 5 lug nuts specifically for the spare tire. In my other car with alloy wheels the parts counter guy sold me a different set of lug nuts for the donut. He said that you have use different lug nuts for the thinner steel wheel. Of course, that is a German car with lug bolts vs. lug nuts. Can you confirm that the existing lug nuts fit the steel wheel donut? Thanks.
I put the spare on the rear and took it for a short drive and didn't see a problem. On the Odyssey you use the same lug nuts as with the stock alloys. My wife got a couple of flats when we had an Odyssey LOL. If I am missing something, let me know.

Thanks Bryan. As you know, you have to put the spare on the rear regardless of which tire went flat. The differential will be damaged if you have different tires on the front end of the car. I may pick up some spare lug nuts from an Odyssey or Civic just in case, since their alloy wheels are certainly narrower than the FL5. What matters is how deep the lug nuts are so you don't run out of threads when you tighten up that thin steel wheel. Sounds like the FL5 nuts will do the job.

False. Not all Acura and Honda use the ball seat on OEM wheels.

Got an Acura RL spare tire, and the nuts are not ball seat. Had to buy 5 lugs for the spare... You can see all the relevant info in one of the spare tire thread.

So, ALMOST all Honda/Acura us the ball seat, but not all.
