I found this video explaining the aerodynamics of the Type R with and without the spoiler. It shows how much the car changes. I’m not trying to be the spoiler police or anything after all, the first thing I took off my Evo was the spoiler!
I’m sure there will be a doctor or someone debating that the video is wrong, just to justify why they removed their spoiler and how “beneficial” it’s been for fuel consumption or something
.
The video uses the OEM spoiler, not any aftermarket options. It also talks about the front of the car and explains how it isn’t too beneficial aerodynamically. Overall, it’s a really good video.
Again, this is just my opinion: if you buy a Type R, I don’t see the point of removing the spoiler. It feels like having a Civic Hatch Sport with extra steps. People already believe in the Type R why cave to that narrative?.
