Good news, it just departed port a couple hours ago. I’m not sure how long the journey is to the dealership. But to answer your question, yes, some sit at port for awhile for a multitude of reasons. Yours happen to be one of them at 23 days.

Some stats for nerds for all MY24 units arrived and departed port so far:

Personally, I wouldn’t mind waiting for it if it’s a MSRP deal. I like vehicles fresh off of transport so that I have the chance to ask them to keep all the plastics on, no car wash, bare minimum PDI, etc.. basically as untouched as possible. That’s me though. If you don’t care about all that and don’t want to wait, it wouldn’t hurt to shop elsewhere and see how it goes.

I would pull my deposit if I could get a better deal. The fact that you have a deposit may work as a negotiation tactic to get below MSRP. “I have a deposit for an incoming vehicle at MSRP at another dealership; can you beat it?” It shows you’re serious and they might want to compete for your sale.

Update:
My 2024 CW CTR was scheduled for delivery May 6-10. It arrived yesterday April 24. I picked it up today and paid what the dealership promised. Can't recommend Dave Mungenast Honda in STL enough.

For reference my timeline was:
-VIN 2620 arrived at port 3/16
-deposit on built CTR with VIN 2620 4/8
-Left port 4/10
-Arrived in STL 4/24
-Purchased 4/25
