Hey everyone! I wasn't sure where to post an intro, but to consolidate threads, I posted here to continue this thread with updates and such as I go.

First off, this is the first forum I've signed up for IN A LONG TIME! I was big into them (even owning a couple) back in the early 2000s. So I'm dating myself now...

Anyway, I started out playing with Hondas, but I sold my last one (Del Sol Si) about 14 years ago, so I'm excited to finally pick up another one, and one that I've wanted for a long time! Just purchased this '26 Rallye Red CTR over Father's Day weekend off the lot with 6 miles on it.

11th Gen Honda Civic OGKaiju's '26 RR CTR Thread: My New Fun DD CTR First Day 1

I bought this car to replace an aging Infiniti daily driver, and give me something that I can have fun in at the same time. I'll keep power train modifications modest for awhile, but I'll focus on cooling, braking, and handling stuff first so I can take it to some track days (I used to race NASA, so I'd like to get back into it). First order of business is some PPF.

I do have a few others cars, but currently, none of them run... (typical car guy who also has young kids...), as they are in various stages of "builds". Most notably is my '90 Skyline GTR. I do hope to have this car back on the road later this year, but we'll see. I also have an S13 and S14 that are more track toys, but are both under major project status at the moment. I also have a Lexus IS300 that was supposed to be my daily driver, but I let it get out of hand and now I don't even know what I'll use it for other than just messing around. That should be running this year as well. I've mostly been a 90s Nissan guy over the past 23 years, but I generally like Japanese cars in general, but specifically fun Japanese cars.

Anyways, that's enough for now. I'll post as I do things to the FL5. Right now I'm trying to decide on Advan GT Beyond R's or Desmond Rega Evo 2s... LOL. Both in 18x10, but I do like the fitment of the +40 Advans, where as the Regas only come in +50 as far as I can find.

Congratulations!

modest for me was @COBB Tuning intake and AccessPort with custom tune by @JST Performance

easy install for a novice, noticeable improvement, for now not looking for more :)

as far as wheels, I did a lot of research into lightweight wheels.+40 does look nicer, but I am only looking at OEM +60 wheels 18x9.5

I want to keep scrub radius same as OEM to avoid changing suspension geometry and introduce torque steer.

which is also the reason I will not lower the car.

I have found only one company that makes exactly what I want (and confirmed fitment): BC Forged RZ05 18x9.5 +60

https://bcforged-na.com/monoblock/rz05/

other stuff to look at:
DSC suspension controller
mild sway bar + links
short throw shifter + bushings
rear motor mount
upper motor mounts
WOT HPD cooling tray
oil catch cans
aluminum coolant expansion tank
anti-theft stuff (kill switch, alarm, OBD port lock, Faraday cage for key fob, etc)

For me, Modest is stuff that won't cause issue with the warranty. Catback exhaust, potentially a short sifter, engine mounts, maybe an intercooler, but I'm on the fence with that one. This is self-imposed btw, because I'm trying to control myself... ha ha.

Right now, I need to focus the heavy engine modification stuff on other car projects.

The Anti-Theft stuff is actually my first priority, but I'll be leaving what I actually do off the internet. I've been doing a lot of research on multiple methods and will do my own unique solutions as well. The original reason why I stopped buying Hondas was because they kept getting stolen...

Your "other stuff" list is all on my spreadsheet already, ha! I actually like a little extra scrub due to the feedback, but I'll make sure to keep it in check. I'll be looking more into the suspension to see what I can play with to make the car behave how I prefer. One of the reasons why I bought this car was because of the rad front suspension design.
