PWR Intercooler fitment

That bracket in your pic looks pretty trimmed and modified.
I mean, even the plastic tab's vertical reinforcements are gone in your pic.

For some like me, specifics about identifying ICs that can be installed without modifications is about racing class rules, not because of any brand preferences.

If MDR can fit without cutting the sensor bracket, then AWESOME! But that does not appear to be the case.

Seems like both PRL and HKS intercooler requires cutting out a bracket and relocating the ambient air temp sensor. Has anyone installed the PWR intercooler yet? Based on their photo (and if the highlighted area is said bracket), seems like it can fit just like the OEM intercooler? How's your on-track experience with it?

I emailed them to ask just to make sure and they said don't come with pre painted nor stencil

I went to pwr website and seen they have the incoming newer version tube and fin it larger than bar and plate what your thought on that should I purchase this bar and plate or newer version tube and fin

PWR previously offered the option to purchase a logo-less intercooler, for a $100 upcharge, but recently stopped offering this option. I purchased a logo-less version for my FK8 but had to purchase it with for my FL5.

PWR confirmed that they use Rust-oleum Pro High Perf Gloss Aluminum paint (14oz rattle can) on all their cores to even out the finish. I just removed the logo on FL5 intercooler yesterday. I hit it with some aerosol Aircraft stripper, rinsed it good, compressor dried, and put two light coats of the Rust-oleum on it. Took about 2 hrs total with drying time between. You can get away without the stripper but I didn't want any red showing through once it develops some road scars.

Bro I want that logo on there matching my boost blue and Honda logo but tsp said all pwr intercooler did not come pre painted that why im so confused when everyone I asked everyone I know they said come pre painted out of the box. I don't know what tsp up too lol

Mine is the bar-plate version.

I'm sure the tube-fin version is very nice and a direct bolt-in but that can sometimes be misleading. While the unit may utilize the OE mounting points and charge pipes, it appears to have integrated air shrouds (pic below) which likely means trimming or removal of the OE shrouds. The air temp sensor likes also requires relocation. These minor modifications are required for 99% of aftermarket intercoolers, you just have to determine what is best for you.
