Well said, Patel - when I was younger, I drove some real beaters while saving everything I could for my first home.
Today, I'm in good shape financially, and I still drive inexpensive cars because eventually, they'll be worth almost nothing (unless you get lucky and end up getting a collectable car). In other words, don't invest in a depreciating asset.

I decided to keep my car and finish paying it off and save for the downpayment. I also school loans. Graduated with a master's degree, so more debt. haha.
