My final decision for the Conti DWS 06+ was based on both, performance with winter and poor road conditions... and also because i decided to stick with the OEM 19" rims. The Contis gave me about half-inch extra sidewall by going to a 255/35... rather than going down to 18" rims.

yes, I did notice a difference in a bit more mushiness -- which helped with potholes and bumps. Mostly, i noticed they were definitely slower on initial start from stop. I haven't felt a lot of difference on my setup for cornering or handling.

@Tickle and @walnut did either of you consider the conti EC Sport02? I think that replaced the DW (non S) and is in the same category as the PS4S. I was considering these when I go to 18s.

I went the EC Sport 02 when I downsized to 18" wheels and was not impressed. I wish I went with a 200TW tire with a stiffer sidewall. They felt very sloppy compared to the factory 19" wheels with PS4S.

Like an Advan Neova AD09 or Nankang CR-S?

They look nice and I'm sure great for ideal track conditions, but not sure if they are daily-able.

Have you found any decent sidewall in 18?

You're probably better off sticking with PS4S over the Continentals. I should have went with Bridgestone RE-71RS as these were strictly summer wheels. The DWS are a better year round set of tires if you don't want to swap wheels based on season. They are what I run in the winter but on factory 19" wheels. I think they would feel too soft in an 18" configuration though.

FYI - most tire manufacturers (including Continental) recommend storing unmounted tires vertical - not horizontal or stacked horizontal. For mounted tires it is the exact opposite.

Hi there. Are you running stock suspension? Need to know if it rubs with swift spring on.

I was running stock suspension when I had the DWS06+ on. I'm on ohlin's road & track now with 18x9.5 +45 & kumho v730s on the same spec with no rubbing, but ik swift springs are a slightly bigger drop than the ohlin's.

What do you have for 18" wheels? In particular, what offset are you using? I've started the hunt for snow tires and wheels and the lack of high offset 18" wheels is unfortunate since I'd rather keep the snow tires inside the fender than have them flush.

I'm running 18x9.5 with +45 offset, it's pretty close to flush so I'd recommend +53 or higher offset if you want them inside the fender
