Hey for those who have swapped their steering wheel.

Can you guys/gals check what markings you see on the casting. So far the FL5s I remember doing all say A-1 on the right. I just installed a steering wheel for a buddy (don't know the brand) and it doesn't go on straight. The steering wheel is slightlyyyyyy titled to the left, I remove and move it ONE tooth over to the right and then it becomes too far right.

I tried like 5x to remedy the issue but no dice.

What I did notice is the aftermarket steering wheel (while oem casting/honda) it says B-1 instead AND it came with paddles on them. I very strongly believe it was a sport model wheel used to make this one for the FL5.

Didn't want to leave too much open for interpretation so I did some digging. I came up with this, the FL5 uses a different steering column to the sport model but coincidentally the SI uses the same column as the sport. I looked up all the part numbers. Not sure what the differences are but I wanna bet a sport wheel was used not a FL5.

I believe that while the spline count is the same its possible the teeth aren't oriented the same. For example Tooth 1 for the FL5 could be at 12 o'clock and for the sport/SI it could be like a millimeter over meaning a cavity/groove is at the 12oclock position.

Can anyone who has removed their steering wheel confirm its NOT B-1. It's stamped(raised lettering) T20 on the left side and should be stamped(raised lettering) A-1 on the right.

I've changed steering wheels in multiple vehicles over the years and always needed to align the car afterwards.

Even when replacing like for like. Due to slight variations inherent to the manufacturing process.

I've rarely ran into this problem. So I've been stumped. This is maybe the 3rd or 4th FL5 steering wheel I've done, a couple FK8s (in the past 3 or 4 years) No prior issues. Even upgraded a bmw steering wheel the other day, no issue what so ever.

I do agree an alignment would solve the issue, thanks. Was just trying to make sense of things.

At the end of the day I guess it boils down to luck. If the wheels were manufactured in the same exact batch the chances of a perfect match may increase.
