So I installed my 3 year old Thinkware U1000 today (I used to have it in my FK8) and dont really understand how to tuck the wire in the hatch trim. I watched a video of someone doing the same thing with their Blackvue camera but either the tolerances are so much tighter on my hatch trim near the glass OR the USB cable for the Thinkware cam is thicker and I just cannot tuck mine easy at all.

Has ANYONE installed this same camera successfully and managed to tuck/hide the rear camera cable? Feeding it through the grommet wasnt hard at all with the cable lubed up, I just cant tuck it in the plastic trim around the glass.

Just installed a rear camera myself and ran into the same problem. Was nowhere close to being able to tuck the USB cable in there. Decided just to route it along the window using some stick on clips that were included. I believe Blackvue uses a coaxial cable instead of USB, which is likely why it is thinner.

I have the same setup. I wedged the a thin trim removal tool like in the video to get enough space to tuck the cable in. Still not super clean, but enough to hide it.

Referring to the Blackvue camera or a camera that uses a USB cable?

I have the Thinkware u1000 + usb cable. I assume its a bit thicker than the one in the video, but I was able to tuck it a bit. I'll try to get a picture of it when I get home this evening.

huh, interesting. I was really hesitant to try to force the issue as that plastic has like zero flex to it.

Yeah I didnt feel like there was any movement to the plastic at all and was getting afraid that I might break the glass back there lol.

Looking forward to your picture(s) of the cable tucked. It has to look better than my electrical taped wire by the glass.
