Ok gang, I'm done with the crappy OEM tires on my si. I'm going to take advantage of a black Friday deal for some new DWS 06+ extreme contacts.

I know I want a slightly wider tire but I'm torn about side wall height. I am using aftermarket wheels 18 x 8.5 +38 on stock suspension. Just looking for opinions on these two sizes before I pull the trigger:

245/40/18 or 245/35/18

What say you?

My winter setup is enkei ts-7 18/9.5+45 with dws06+ 265/40/18. no rubbing. solid performance. very comfortable ride. I have mild winters so no need for snow tires.

I'm on 18x8.5 +38mm & DWS06+ 245/40R18.

245/40R18 is a very popular upsized tire for the Si. The speedo error is very small and the sidewall is only slightly taller than stock. 245/35R18 is much smaller than 245/40R18 with a thinner sidewall. Plus the tire will look smaller in your wheel well and give a larger gap.
