Easily could have gotten the guy (or someone else) very severely hurt if it happened to one of the front ones first.

On top of it being flat out irresponsible to be driving around on these tires in the snow in the first place. Honestly, your insurance company should straight-up deny any claims as a result of doing something like that.

Folks, the "summer" in "summer tire" actually means something. You may not want to believe it. You may think you'll be just fine. You are playing with fire.

If you can't afford to have two sets of wheels/tires, buy a cheaper car instead.

It's just shocking and sad to see how much pushback people give when they're called out on this too.

This OP tried to read me the riot act because I was trying to push common sense that only keeps him and everyone around him safe. It's even more ironic (and pathetic) that he literally came to this forum, started a thread, and asked the question specifically to solicit feedback on this very topic.

This is the world we live in.

The first thing I learned when getting into cars was that it's all "pay to play". One of the most expensive hobbies out there.

The tire thing is ridiculous to me though, it's like cheaping out on the most important part of the car.
