I talked to a dealer last week and he will order one for me. I should add that this was not some random car dealership but a direct Honda subsidiary / branch office (They are called "Honda Niederlassung" in German) and there are 3 of those in Germany (Düsseldorf / Frankfurt a.M. / Leipzig). Since they are a Honda branch I am guaranteed to get mine at MSRP.

BTW, they still have a limited edition for sale:

I wish US had a law that prohibited dealer markups on cars, like some other countries.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for capitalism and free market. I just wish it didn’t apply to new cars lol

Target and Best Buy can't legally markup prices of PS5's because they are in high demand, they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Why should automobile sales be any different?

Secured a deposit at a local dealer here in MN for their first new type r coming in. MSRP, only 2k in accessories we agreed upon, ppf, tint, mats, shit I will actually buy anyways.

I'm beyond excited.

Sold my 2020 a little bit ago and regret it for sure.

That's not terrible if they are doing PPF.

I'm in the same boat, sold my 2020 and really miss it.

I will never purchase another BMW from anyone else after receiving the deal that I did. Literally nobody I’ve talked to could match it at the time.
Two question:

1. Would you purchase from that dealer in the future if their price is higher than another dealer?
2. Would you purchase from that dealer in the future if that dealer is significantly further and a dealer significantly closer to you would sell a car at the same price?

Yes to both. That’s how relationships are built.

Chances are, the price wouldn’t be much higher, if at all. Large dealerships with competent SO’s who know a particular market well - and sell at unbeatable prices - are able to do so because of volume. More volume means more allocations on rarer cars. I know several BMW dealerships who frequent the forums and are able to get the audience that way. They crush it with numbers when it comes to ///M cars, for instance. Virtually unbeatable pricing.

Buying cars out of state is the new norm nowadays. Never bothered me. Forking out $1k on shipping will be more than offset by the savings.

When I bought my M2C, nobody in my home state could come anywhere close to the deal I got.

I do not care if it ends up costing more due to shipping etc, I will be a car across the country before I pay a mark up. If I can't end up finding one for MSRP then I just will not own one.

With that said, I am hoping the dealer I bought my 2020 from stays true to their word saying they will sell the new model to me at MSRP as well.
