If you bought a few cars over the past three years, was it through the same dealer network? If so, I am shocked they would continue to charge you ADM for your loyalty. I still immensely respect dealers who look after their loyal customers. That is getting harder and harder to find these days...

Congrats on the type R thought! I am really surprised 7 people in front of you passed. Maybe this hype train is truly dying down and actual people putting their wallet where their mouth is, is shrinking for the benefit of people who actually want these cars.
All different dealers none in the same network. I went by dealership in June and was told I probably wouldn't get one. I think with it being a week before Christmas played a part and I was able to get my funds together quickly.

Most of us in these forums are mature car enthusiasts. (I say "most") First of all, no one should be criticizing anyone who already has an FL5 and paid some sort of ADM. If they had the means to buy one and are happy pulling the trigger when they did, be happy for them!
On the flipside, no one should bag on anyone holding out for one at MSRP. I was one of these folks who didn't need to be the first one to have one and waited the market out until we got the right deal. Yes, I paid a small ADM, but everything fell into place at the right time and couldn't be happier with the purchase! Our end goal is the same: to own and drive a special car. Best of luck to those still holding out and cheers to those enjoying theirs on the road and track!

Anyone buy a type r in the past week or two? It seems like most of the local dealers with used type R’s are reducing their prices
I just put a deposit down on a 24 SGP at my local dealership for MSRP. I think it helps that i know one of the sales managers.

I also found a few 2023s with less than 3k miles for around 47-48k otd here in Texas with 6.25% sales tax. Seems as most dealers around here are asking aound 5-10k over but will move at 2-4k over MSRP because i had a few deals at those prices but just waited. IF you can find any 2023s still in stock they definitely more aggressive on moving those.

You may be right, but don't assume that people passing on the car is due to less hype. Even at the height of hype, i was 16th on the list for a GR Corolla, and ended up 1st... and after i bought my FL5, i was called by a couple of Honda dealers who had long waiting lists, but their customers passed due to financing. The financial market is the worst part right now -- offsets the lower ADMs.

I would buy the grey one for $45,900 today that’s in the for sale thread on here… it’s just finding time between work and family to fly up and drive the 20 hours back is the problem…

the best deal for a new one I could get is $54,400 OTD.

this used 2023 an hour away from me with 2,900 miles, they are stuck at $52,000 OTD

I’m no longer in the market. Putting it out there in case someone might want it or can work him lower.

CW with $2k ADM in WA State.
South Tacoma Honda

Edit 1/9: Removed the salesguy’s info because he was unable to deliver on the $2k offer and is now saying $5k ADM according to some members. 😡 Sorry if I wasted anyone’s time.

Forgot to mention - South Tacoma Honda also has two incoming CB units. Not sure if they'll make the same $2K ADM deal on those but wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for that additional detail. The sales tactics are annoying. He texted my friend "What if I can get it $2k over and have it today?" Why make that offer if you can't make that offer lol.

Typical sales guys wanna get you to the dealer then rake you over the coals. Hopefully someone can grind em or they sit on the car.

Managers and bosses always encourage their sales people to give their customers "What if" scenarios to ask so that they can get a commitment at least from the customer. Salesperson's goal is to take back a commitment to the manager and to get them to work in your favor so that they can close the sale.
