Has anyone had an issue since installing a PRL RMM where the hatch door vibrates heavily with the AC running? I'm trying to figure out if the intense July heat is making the AC run harder causing the increased vibration. I only notice this after everything is up to temp and the car has been running a while.

For the few months prior to now i only noticed a slight vibration with the AC on, but not quite like this

Did you torque it to spec when you installed it?

I torqued it to 69ft lb which was for the FK8. Figured it would be the same for the FL5. Wasnt able to find info on it

I would retorque it, and see if that helps if not may just be a loose panel

I induced a rattle in the front passenger side door and also at the hatch after my PRL RMM install. I had a Hasport originally and that was even worse. Neither rattle is constant when the A/C is on, definitely RPM based and not all the time, but very annoying.

I re-torqued mine once, may try again to see if there is any difference. The direction of the trans mount side bolt is just stupid. I have to remove part of my exhaust to really get a socket on it. I tried a crow's foot wrench head on my torque wrench when the exhaust was on but I couldn't quite get a good seat on the bolt head.

I am leaning to some loose panels so I will check those out next after re-torquing for another time.

Yeah I'll try that and see how it goes

The inability to recreate the rattle is the most annoying part. It only occurs when everything is HOT. Like right after some highway driving. By the time i get parked at home the rattle goes away...I first though it was my AWE exhaust that got loose but i adjusted and retightned all of that

Are you able to play with your tune? When I went to a harder RMM on my 10th gen, bumping up my idle speed to 1,000rpm made a world of difference.

Yeah, that is my issue too. It typically only happens with a hot car and at some mid-low to mid-range RPM (I haven't pinpointed it exactly). I checked my exhaust a few times and there isn't anything loose there. I have the Remark Titanium exhaust and it has all flanged connections that are super solid and not close to contacting any other part of the car.

I don't have a tune but this thought crossed my mind when the RMM was freshly in my car, as I was getting heavier idle vibrations. Once the RMM broke in some the vibrations at idle mellowed out so this is no longer a priority.

I just have the panel rattles or whatever they are at mostly the 2k-3.5k RPM range (estimated RPM, haven't pinpointed it). I usually notice only during decel, but that is probably just due to it not being as noticeable when the engine is under load.

I'm unfortunately not tuned yet but good idea for when I get around to that

Vibrations will increase with a harder RMM.

New noises will show up.
Is part of the deal.
Yeah and I realize that. it's a particularly violent vibration so was just curious if others are experiencing the same, or if i'm looking at an issue totally unrelated.

It sounds very normal. After my 27Won install, noticed a lot of new vibrations and rattles, especially the rear hatch when I’m around 3000rpm on decel. That’s the most annoying one. But I’ll take rattles and vibrations over wheel hop any day. As mentioned, it’s normal, you installed the mount correctly, so try not to sweat it too much.
Thanks! A bit of piece of mind hearing i'm not the only one with the hatch vibration. My best guess is the AC is working overtime as it's 100 out where I am. Once the car cools a little it dissipates back to normal levels of vibration. Probably going to retorque it down and call it a day

This is my exact worry. I have the PRL RMM, but haven't installed it yet. I had a Hasport RMM on my Accord 2.0 and the vibration was unbearable so I removed it. Most of the YouTube videos I have watched about the PRL mount for the FL5 say it settles down considerably after about a thousand miles. I guess I will find out .... .

The pros still outweigh the cons even with the vibrations. And in my case music drowns it out (i dont even play it very loud). I just happened to turn it off the other day and noticed the hatch going wild. Seems to be the panel just vibrating off the glass. should be able to wedge something in there to dampen it....hopefully lol
