  1. Cooling mods for the average Joe

I mostly agree with this. Blankets should substantially reduce any radiated heat. They will also trap heat in the turbo / DP, and that can lead to longer cooldown times, but it can also cause higher turbo / DP peak temps. It is possible that insulating the turbo / DP lead to higher temps under...
  2. Should i keep my safety net money in savings or refinance my type r!?

This, and the peace of mind that comes with having a rainy day fund (and potentially more than that, given unfortunate circumstances), can be worth paying interest on a car loan (depending on the balance and rate). You can always keep some $ on hand in the event things go south while making...
  3. 2026 FL5 Speculation Thread

Assuming this is the case, lots of potential factors: Emissions standards impacting powertrain production and costs, the inefficiency of supporting a low-production model, market saturation, risks of investing in relatively expensive niche products in the face of slowing consumer sentiment...
  4. Are these cars actually reliable?

Agreed. I'd say the NA, port-injected Civic Sport is probably the most reliable Honda on sale right now, but I would take the FL5/DE5 after that. It sounds like OP got a lemon (and/or perhaps dealership did a poor job attempting to resolve issues).
  5. NSXavier's / PrecisionRS's FL5 Build Thread

Glad to see you back on the platform! (And to see you've started your own business -- congrats!) You were a good resource the first time around, and it was unfortunate we lost you for a bit.
  6. 2026 FL5 Speculation Thread

And, they don't have to meet emissions requirements in Europe, Japan, etc.
  7. Cooling mods for the average Joe

The benefit of most aftermarket intercoolers appears to be situational at best, as most lower IATs but increase coolant / oil temps due to blocking flow to the radiator. I'd look at the WOT Performance cooling plate first, as it will increase the effective efficiency of your existing...
  8. 991.1 carrera 4s. Keep FL5?

I found the steering / shifter feel and gearing in the 9x1(.1) generation Porsches to be a huge letdown. (That doesn't mean they're not awesome cars -- and Numeric is always an option to solve one of those problems.) While they are accessible, fairly reliable, and look great, I would skip that...
  9. 25% Tariff being put on all imported cars like the CTR

Some companies with products subject to tariffs may lower prices, but many with products that are exempt will take the opportunity to raise prices, as well. Additionally, many of these tariffs impact products that are assembled in the US because of complicated supply lines. Realistically, we...
  10. 2024 Acura Integra Type S Observations

This. I (apparently) got lucky. My panel gaps aren't bad, all the panels are well aligned, I don't have paint issues, the only rattle I had was a loose plug below the dash, etc. My car was also an early build, though (#55). I am wondering if perhaps quality overall went down after the honeymoon...
  11. 2024 Acura Integra Type S Observations

Please post back on which is which! Cheers on the knob! It should look perfect with the CTR interior (and if you ever decide you want some perforated leather on your steering wheel, you can do the same thing... I'd check listings on IntegraForums first, though, as some upgraded to the alcantara...
  12. 2024 Acura Integra Type S Observations

Here you go... not sure which one has red stitching and which one has grey.
  13. TSP FL5 - 502whp and counting [2023 Honda Civic Type R Tuned & Modified]

I believe this just shows a different turbo threshold, not necessarily lag.
  14. Fully built engine

If you're serious about this, your best bet is probably a 4Piston block and the PPR billet head (4 exhaust ports- assuming it comes to market). https://www.pprmotorsport.org/fk2-fk8-k20c1-billet-head K20C transmissions, blocks, and heads are not compatible with K20/24 A/Z, etc. transmissions...
  15. Fourth to third shift, 75ish MPH

Sounds like you had RPM to spare and were quick on the clutch. I once went from 3rd to 2nd at redline (while merging on the highway) in a CR-Z, lol. It happens. Luckily the car was fine. I drove the next 90 minutes in silence listening to the engine out of fear 🤣
