Update! Nearly a month in with the new setup, and no issues to report to-date. Anyone that has ridden with me has commented about the car’s Jekyll & Hyde nature as it’s truly docile like stock, until you get on the loud pedal.

I hit the rollers with DRob remotely tuning the car on Tuning by Nick’s dynojet last Monday. This is the same dyno we’ve used the past 4 years, and it’s calibrated pretty equally to what Derek’s own dyno would read.

I had estimated it would crest 580 safely on E50-85, it did so on E60. Derek even asked me if it was an unopened engine, which it is, and if I wanted to keep going as there was room but I was happy enough to leave a good margin for safety. The car will be treated to ethanol 1-2 times per year, it’s way too expensive here ($12/gallon) for frequent use. I got through the first tank quickly, made the best of it with a dozen or so pulls, and as one would expect it’s quite terrifying at first. You see the scenery, then you’re in the scenery šŸ˜…

The 450whp setting on 93 is more than enough for 95% of the time. I ran into a Lexus RC-F in Mexico, he was keen to flex his 5.0L V8. After putting a couple car lengths on him he pulled up wondering what was done to the car 🤣

Ordered rear brake caliper bushings and a clutch damper delete kit from Wunderladen today. I'm kinda skeptical of the caliper bushings, but I'm looking forward to the clutch damper delete. This clutch has always felt a little odd to me coming from my FK8. The release just isn't natural. I've stalled it twice in the last year. Never did with my FK8. I'm hoping this helps.
Installed the clutch damper delete. It's so much better and more natural now. I'm kinda mad Honda even put it there in the first place. The FK8 didn't have it. Just the CDV in the master cylinder. I have struggled with what felt like inconsistent low speed clutch bite on this car since I got it last summer. All gone now. Strongly recommend this cheap mod. I did have to bleed the clutch after install. Apparently not everyone does this, but mine was stuck to the floor after I got everything hooked back up. Clutch bleeds are pretty easy on this car though.

Did you leave the CDV?

Nothing overly exciting, but installed the ITS steering wheel a couple weeks back. Having now tried the OEM leather, Alcantara and this one, this is currently my preference.

It feels slightly thicker than the OEM leather one, but not egregiously so.
