I have an Origin tank sitting in my garage ready to go on soon! Can't wait to install it as it's such a beautiful piece.
Same, my Origin tank is just sitting in the garage waiting too. Ordered new hose pinch off pliers to help with the install so I dont have to drain the whole thing.

Did this happen to yours or was it a general question?
Did not happen to me. Most of us are doing the mod to avoid leaks and it sucks that there's at least one options out there that does fail (Radium). More points of failure look like more pts of possible failure.

Ah okay, I have my MDR ready to install as well but I do like the origin one better. I’ve only heard good things of the MDR one but I agree with the more points of failure

Hey @timestamped - This was just flagged to me today. I apologize that Scott wasn't able to answer your question. "We don't know" should never be a final response from Mishimoto.

That being said, I've put in a request with our engineers to have the capacity difference measured and I will share it with you as soon as I have it. This was an oversight on our part, as volume measurements and comparison with stock are typically a standard piece of information we include with our coolant tanks.

Hi Josh and @Mishimoto,

I received this response:

I found it difficult to trust, since your tank for this platform doesn’t have a sight tube, it is a sight glass window. Details matter and this appears to be a stock answer without thought.

I was requesting a capacity measurement, as in quarts or mL. For an example, this is how PRL provides information:

Installed the PRL coolant expansion tank, it seems very well made, I like that it is larger than other tanks and increases the capacity of the cooling system, but I did not like paying $25 for a gallon of Honda Type 2 coolant...

I used a 500cc syringe to suck up nearly all the coolant from the OEM plastic expansion tank

Once the coolant was removed from the OEM tank, the most challenging part was removing the hoses from the OEM plastic tank. Once I managed to remove the hoses, I did not have hose pinch-off pliers, so I was not able to pinch-off the hoses but no coolant leaked.

The actual installation of the PRL tank was smooth and easy, no issues encountered.

After installation was done, I took a short test drive, all seemed well, no leaks.

The sight window is large and easy to view the coolant level, which was near the top of the window when hot after the short drive, and about midway after cooling a bit.

I love the higher end tanks, the machining is amazing.

I am happy with my Mishi tank. Its low key and understated and most importantly it was good value. It also matches my Mishi catch can.

The tank is tank'in and that's all I need it to do.
