Just had ARP headstuds and exedy stage 0 clutch (with rv6 flywheel) installed. Noticed a couple things off rip.

1. Seems to to be weird vibration when going into 1st. Doesn't appear to effect other gears. If I shift poorly from a stop its much more pronounced, especially in Reverse. (Slightly different clutch engagement point led to this discovery)

2. At high boost (~20psi+) I hear a loud whine (cant classify as a whistle) sounds like "eeeeeeeeeeeeee". Its hard to to define but ceases immediately upon releasing the throttle. Turbo failure? Boost leak?

Should I have an inspection done by the shop that installed? Or a different shop? Is it normal? (no it wasnt doing this before)

Anything helps. Thanks friends!

if you like the guys then give them an option to take a look at the car and address your concerns. if you are on the fence and have a place you trust to double check their work, then bring it there.
I would guess the whine could be from a vacuum leak - lots of things could be left loose when doing a big job like that.
The clutch stuff sounds like normal new clutch stuff to me but impossible to tell for sure. Also if the flywheel is lightweight you are going to "feel" a lot more. Make sure you follow their break in procedure if you got one or google a procedure at the very least..

Ill reach out to them, thanks for the reply.

Also I attached a video here of the noise, does it sound like a vacuum leak?

Bad clutch master cylinder/slave? Something sounds like it's not returning to its position properly.
It only happens under high boost. At no other time does it make that noise regardless of gear. And it stops immediately if I lift throttle

Have you properly broke in the clutch with 500 miles? My guess since its only under high boost it is slipping/glazing. If you continue to WOT if not properly broken in you will need another new clutch soon lol

Did they adjust the clutch throw and push rod after replacing the clutch?

I suppose it could be that but im not seeing any rpm spikes

There is no way that im currently making enough torque to exceed even close to what the clutch is rated for right now.

I just picked the car up yesterday, so no it hasn't been broken in yet.

Also, I have not gone WOT on it, I have gone like 75% just to ensure it was running normally after pick up and thats when I noticed it. Then again a couple times to replicate and ensure im not hallucinating.

Yeah you shouldn't get into high RPmS, high boost, 50%~ on the throttle, no launching, slow take offs from stand still until you break it in.

Yeah it's rated for 400ft lb of tq but 1. You cannot take advantage of that on a brand new clutch and 2. you're not going to keep that 400lb rating if you don't break in it.
Stay below 3-4k rpm and stay out of boost otherwise like I said you'll be back there for another clutch install

How many miles did you have on the original clutch? Did it slip at all? How did it look when it was out? Also, how was your original headgasket looking?

Im currently FBO on TSP stage 1, everything looked fine, no slippage or head gasket issues. Reason for the upgrade is im installing a flex fuel kit and going Phearable 2.5. Covering bases ya dig.

For now yes to play it safe, definitely ask the shop you took it too though if it could be anything else.

I did not have that noise when I did my clutch but I didn't get into any boost until like 200 miles personally
