That’s what I’m hoping for @Chilly613. I’m pretty OCD with my car, but also try to be practical. It is a bumper after all. If PDR can get it even 90% fixed to where I can juuuuust barely see it or feel it, I think my mind can let the last 10% of imperfection go. Keeping my fingers crossed on...
While hand drying my car today, after its first wash in awhile, I noticed my back bumper is a little F’d up. I’m pretty positive it must’ve happened while my dealership had it in their possession for a few days back in late Oct (troubleshooting a CEL). A couple of weeks have passed and I’ve...
@cryptolime Have you read it in its entirety? LOL! It is long and wordy with a lot of rambling…though there is some good info, for sure.
Thanks for posting the key info so folks don’t need to dig for it. So what is it about the Honda PLM A02 that isn’t good? I understand there are filters that...
Yeah, as Honda has been using these filters for many years now (+ the maintenance minder) I think we’d hear about widespread engine failures if the OEM oil filter doesn’t provide excellent protection for Honda engines.
Maybe if you live somewhere super dusty or if you want to do extended oil...
There’s probably non-Type-R’s in other regions with manual trans and without Auto Idle Stop.
Correct, the maintenance minder tells you when to change your oil based on more factors than simply the milage.
To your point though, the NA manual is missing some info, like break-in mileage. It is...
@cryptolime @Bunhyung
Do you have links to info (preferably actual test results) regarding Honda oil filters being poor quality? Honda A01 filters, for a very long time, were essentially the same as Mobil 1. I think the only difference was the Honda filters had a slightly different...
For all affected with the “sticky steering” issue, I’m wondering if this is related. Seems highly possible. Hope you all get it sorted out and soon. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/consumer-products/recalls/honda-initiates-recall-for-civics-due-to-potential-steering-rack-defect/
I would just get cheap wheels for winter, perhaps even steelies (if they make them in a size that will clear the brake calipers). Swapping tires on/off is not unheard of, but I hope you trust your tire shop not to mess up your wheels. Every time tires are swapped is an opportunity for disaster.
I had the film too. It’s there to protect the car’s thick “hips” from debris being sprayed from the front tires. A lot of people are getting aftermarket PPF, in which case this film gets removed.
No. It’s actually very normal to have two separate sets of wheels & tires to easily swap between summer/winter. Well…at least up “nort” and in Canada it’s normal. In fact I’ve seen tire shops that will store customers’ winter/summer sets for them.
@hammeredsole Yup! This all makes complete sense to me. The only unknown is exactly as you state ; We don’t know how much reducing the offset changes the steering dynamics. I can see how a +38 or +45 may still work just fine on some tracks (compared to the OEM’s +60). Even if I’m not on a track...
It is a good price!
The car is practically new and @jayely14 is super meticulous with his cars (including his Porsche), based on his posts and interactions I’ve had with him via DM. The guy has special lighting in his garage that is usually used by detailers…which says a lot. Anyone looking...
The fob is probably the same one used across several Honda and Acura vehicles, including the Civic Sedan…which I bet the trunk does pop-up when the button is pushed. In other cars/SUV’s, the lift gate is probably motorized. But yeah, the button is pretty useless in our case.
Understandable, but the poor design also helps them NOT get money. Seems like a bad trade-off to me. I imagine the mirrors look better on some cars versus others though.
It doesn’t pop up because the hatch uses pneumatic lifts. Took me awhile to get used to it too. My last car was an 09 Si, which had spring tensioners built into the trunk. The trunk lid was also much lighter weight, so springs are sufficient. But anyway, that’s why SUV’s and hatchbacks have...
If I have one complaint about the Tekton it’s that you have to be careful that the set screw stays in place while in use, because the rotating torque adjustment is built into the handle grip. What can happen is that the mechanism can rotate (out of the desired spec) if the set screw is not...
