It’s funny the way he worded it, but if one doesn’t care about a lot of the exclusive stuff the CTR / ITS have (which definitely add to their cost), I can see a tuned Si being just as fun on the street…and I love seeing people’s Si builds. Cheers! ?
I’m not going to delve into the widely discussed pros and cons of EV technology and will just say that I think it’s cool to see a manufacturer focus on the next generation hot hatch. My hearse will probably be an EV and I will be upset about it.?
Black ITS seats would possibly drop-in + some electrical connections + maybe brackets? Might be an option. I don’t know your goals other than getting black seats and maintaining factory safety.
UPDATE : Skip down to *** if you don’t want to read my great story.
Just got off the phone with my dealership’s service department manager a bit ago. Paraphrasing, I said “I found an issue with my car. Can I bring it in so we can look at it together and come up with a good solution to get it...
They’re literally blocks they wedge into the suspension (at the factory) to help stabilize the cars during shipping. There have been documented cases where people received their cars, but the dealership forgot to remove the shipping blocks…and people had been driving their cars with the shipping...
To your point, the FK8 does have more “traditional hatchback” proportions with its taller roofline in the back. And really, that’s what a lot of small SUV’s basically are these days ; They’re hatchbacks with more ground clearance, but poorer gas milage.
Yes. It is normal. There is a thread about this and it has to do with making sure the front wheels have enough clearance when braking. Keep in mind most of the car’s weight is in front. In your pics, I agree it looks like there’s excessive clearance. I noticed the same thing with an FL5 in my...
I think it’s best to think of ceramic coating as a way to more easily keep your paint clean and protected from contaminants. I’m not sure how much it helps with UV protection, but I know it definitely makes keeping the car’s exterior clean A LOT easier. It is totally worth it if you like your...
OK. No need to bizarrely get all up in arms about this complete non-issue.
I didn’t understand the point of your post and I think we’re arguing semantics here. If you removed the rear bumper cover assemblies (which includes the lights and decorative bits), you’d find that the actual bumper...
Look at the bumper ledges and ground clearance. They’re nearly even with each other. The entire bumper assemblies are very nearly the same height too. The tail lights are just shorter on the FL5 so there’s more “blank canvas” space that you’re seeing. This makes it look like the bumper on the...
Thankfully there’s no obvious scratches. There’s just the super minor scuff / rub I mentioned. It’s barely visible. The bumper is ceramic coated and I’m sure the surface blemishes will completely buff out ; 5 minute job for my detailer.
Yeah…without proof, I know I can’t definitively say the...
@Jester04 Yeah, stuff like this consumes my brain until I get it resolved. It really sucks. I wish I had found the problem sooner.
My dealership is nearby, so I guess the first thing to do is go back to them and see what they have to say. I won’t get my hopes up, but maybe there’s a chance...
@1971Camaro Snow tires use a MUUUUCH softer compound than summer tires. Even with the best possible setup, the softness and mushiness of snow tires is not going to match the OEM (summer) setup. It is what it is. Winter traction and maneuverability is an entirely different ballgame than summer...
Here’s a video of the top surface of the bumper. This is actually a much larger, but less obvious problem. This surface used to be totally flat and smooth. Watch the reflection and you can kinda see how it distorts as I pan the camera sideways. This is MUCH easier to feel than see, but hopefully...
