@albi I took a look at the APR mirrors and they are MUCH better. Just the shape of the mirror housing itself is far and away better. Now…if APR could make a little CF cover piece to hide the mounting bracket bolts, that’d be a killer way to finish off the look.
But anyway…sorry for the thread...
Thanks for the additional photo. I can appreciate some aspects of it. The problem is that the arm is all curvy and sculptural, then they put a mirror shaped like a rounded brick on top. It isn’t a cohesive design by itself. Added to the car exacerbates how odd it is.
@007 Yes, supply and demand makes sense. I agree the markups should continue to taper down, assuming there’s no production problems.
I also think @AspecR is right that the FL5 is likely to always have a markup of some sort (in most scenarios). The simple reason being : There are always buyers...
@sugarl4nd What torque wrench are you using now? Hard to tell if we’re giving you good upgrade options if we don’t know your starting point. :)
I’m using a good, but otherwise basic Tekton torque wrench. Does the job, but does take a little bit of fidgeting to be sure I set it correctly.
Sounds accurate to me. I used to live in northeast KS. Jay Wolfe is especially awful and had a class action lawsuit against them a few years after I moved away. Look it up. I don’t know what their problem is, but they and other dealerships in KC are super arrogant in my experience. KC is a nice...
It’s funny. I see chrome on a Vette and 99% of the time it’s an old man’s car. But here, the chrome wheels look great and not old man at all! I don’t think I’d get chrome for myself, but I love seeing others doing things differently with their rides.
Any significant changes would’ve been announced around the end of September, historically speaking. And if 2024’s are indeed on boats now and you’ve still not read about any changes on the Honda website, then yeah, there will be none…except new year and higher price.
Unless they totally...
@Clark_Kent Yeah your attention to detail with all the upgrades you’ve done to your car are absolutely second to none! You’ve done everything the way I would do it and hired professionals with the more complicated things. I (cautiously) trust you! Hahaha! ;)
Ah OK. I wasn’t sure how tough the adhesive is. Some super sticky 3M double sides tapes are pretty much permanent…and that’s my concern. So taking it off would be really difficult without damaging something. That’s why I was thinking about simply applying the CF overlay to an entirely...
I got mine from Dream, but I know there’s other good sources. Tegiwa and Blackhawk come to mind.
I haven’t installed it yet, because I want to keep my OEM aluminum console in case I ever want to switch back. Apparently the OEM console trim is real aluminum and the same aluminum used on the...
@urbo73 I get what you’re saying. Yeah, I suppose most of the time you’d know in advance if you want rev match on/off…like if you’re going to a track or planning a spirited drive. I’ve read where other cars (BMW maybe?) had rev match on a button and I guess it stuck in my head as a nice-to-have...
When stock, opening and closing the valve doesn’t seem to do anything that the system doesn’t automatically do, though. What would be the point? There’s virtually no difference in sound at low RPMs and at high RPMs it opens automatically. With exhausts like Milltek, at least there’s an audible...
NOS button
…but seriously. What would be REALLY cool is an auto rev match on/off button. And it’s right by the shifter, so it’d make a lot of sense.
As a more realistic idea, it’d be cool if it was simply some kind of accessory button, like a Homelink button or something like that.
It’s like those people in hybrids and EV’s trying to control the speed (and gas consumption) of highway traffic by intentionally driving slow and preventing others from passing.?
Yeah…bypassing the line to get a premade pizza vs ordering a pizza (with your choice of toppings) and having it delivered to you are two entirely different things.?
Maybe they’d pull some major strings at Honda Corporate to allow someone like Jay Leno to actually order a car (and probably even...
I think you’re right. People probably think you have your brights on because they see 2 sets of lights on, even though both sets are the low beams.@Samurai1225
I’ve never seen a car with incorrectly aimed headlights from the factory…though I suppose it can happen. As a test, maybe you can turn...
@KidIcarus Yeah, in the US, the dealerships have no control over the allocations. They can take your “order” and possibly trade with another dealership to get the customer their desired color, but that’s all they can do. That’s likely the case in Canada too. Outside of Japan, I don’t know of any...
