I donāt have an Si to test this, but the FL5 has the same shifter as the Si (from my understanding). AC and ventilation system is most likely the same too.
I donāt know man. Iāve driven manual vehicles for the last ~20 years straight. The AC has never affected the shifter in any car (or truck)...
Thereās no technical reason running AC could make your shifter more notchy. The engine turns the AC compressor pulley when the AC is on. This is why your revs will drop a little faster. Running AC puts an additional load on the engine. This should have no effect on the shifter itself.
And no...
@TW00Si Exactly! I think the Civic platform is probably considered an intermediate sized car now and no longer a compact. Maybe the 10th gen is when it happened? I feel like the 8th and 9th gen were likely still considered compacts. By todayās standards your ā99 Civic DX might almost fall into...
Itās kinda ridiculous how big cars have gotten over the last 10 years, let alone 20 years. 10 yr old cars have a lot of the same safety stuff available today, so safety canāt be the entire source of the bloat. Donāt get me wrong, I love my FL5, but I also kinda miss the smallness of older cars...
Congrats! Though I have my FL5, I canāt help but stare when I see an Si. The sedan body is really nice looking, especially with the sporty touches the Si gets. Add the OEM rear deck lip/spoilerā¦itās justā¦?
Yeah, I love black and think itās the best color for like 80% of vehicles. My first car was black. It was also my last black car. I learnt quickly! ?
@two24studios CW is definitely a light cream color and not a pure/neutral white. I need to read up on it because this thread makes me curious about its origin and history.?
Initially I thought I wanted SGP, but am really glad I got CW. Itās the FL5ās only unique color and my Si sedan (owned...
Exactly @Clark_Kent
Iāve said it before : These arenāt the same thing as run-of-mill Camrys, Malibus, or Altimas sitting on lots that a dealership might have a blow-out sale on. That kind of thing just doesnāt really apply to limited production, performance, āspecialtyā vehicles. If a...
This is true. Manufacturers make running changes to parts (even when there isnāt an official model change). As you said, sometimes they do this to fix small quirks and things of that nature. These minor updates can occur any time during a production run, regardless of MY. Other times...
Thereās some things I like and donāt like about the Mugen kit. It is unique and I love the e-x-t-e-n-s-i-v-e attention to detail. Iām sure part of the reason it looks the way it does is because it is truly functional. Quality will be top notch. No question.
Thanks for posting @AspecR
Makes sense because Midwest is pretty much the slowest to get allocations versus the coasts, so thereās fewer for sale in the region. For example, my dealership got my car in mid Feb (first allocation). They just got their 2nd allocation last week.
It was probably a real personās job to create and publish it, but they made zero effort to fact check or anything. They just posted whatever the AI came up with. Keep in mind AI will only be as smart and specific as the user asks it to be, just like using a search engine.
Iām pretty positive it is AI written. Thereās just no way even an amateur writer would make so many errors. What appears to have happened is the AI is mixing info from the classic Integra Type R and applying it to the new Type S. Itās lazy editing which shouldāve be done by a human, tho.?
Good review and pretty much follows what folks have been saying the last few months. GRC is more raw and playful. CTR is more refined and technical. Both are great in their own ways. Because they are so different, itād be ideal to get both (as some people have)! ?
@s2kdriver80 Yeah, I like the overall understated look and feel of the FL5 wheel, but Honda shouldāve made it a little more premium and differentiated. Iām pretty positive itās the exact same wheel as found in normal Civics and other vehicles like the CR-V ; The only thing different is the red...
