  1. 19” TE37 Ultra Wheels Installed on Boost Blue Civic Type R FL5

Why not go with 265x35 if you're staying on stock rims? 255x35 on a 9.5 wide wheel will be absolutely fine as far as stretch, I wouldn't even consider it a stretch TBH. You have more sidewall than the stock 265x30. However if its more comfort you're looking for then thats an entirely different...
  2. 🤩 FL5 Type R Owner Review First Impressions! (after 270ish miles and counting)

I think for him to even mention it is telling. This isn't some guy on a forum guessing it might be an issue. They've already started development on the car. A lot of the onboard footage from track tests show high temps also. I'm not trying to shit on the car, it most likely won't be an issue for...
  3. 🤩 FL5 Type R Owner Review First Impressions! (after 270ish miles and counting)

In this vid the Spoon rep mentions the FL5 is better but still has cooling issues. He compares tuning potential at 8min 55sec and mentions the cooling about 9:30sec in.
  4. 2023 Civic Type R FL5 - Reviews Compilation (Articles + Videos) ✍🏻 🎥

Damn it! I was sure Honda were going to price me out of this and had almost written it off. Over $70k I can't justify that for a civic, type R or not. At $69,990 I can convince my pea brain it's good value. Lol
  5. Forged wheel option weight savings

These were a forged option at the launch of the FK8 in Australia. They were 2.1kg (4.6 pounds) lighter than the stock wheels. They look great but cost $14,000 Aud (Just under $9000 usd)
  6. US Type-R Delivery Date Guesses

It will be interesting to see just how many are coming into the US. I have heard Australia is getting as many as 700+ in the first allocation. Thats huge considering there were only around 1300 FK8s sold here between 2017-2021. I know dealers are saying it will be a limited run as they convince...
  7. Intake box uncovered.

Do you have a link to the shots? The only ones I've seen of the cross section are on an angle that hides this J pipe. You can (just) see in this photo there is an opening in the intake where this meets.
  8. Backup plans - what's yours?

Have you driven any of the N cars from Hyundai? Interested to get your toughts.
  9. Australian Type R Order/Info Thread

Its not the dealers setting the fixed price, and the price of the car doesn't impact what they are paid for selling a car. A friend of mine worked at the Honda dealership and left because of this. Honda Australia are the ones gouging the market, not the dealers. I agree with your logic on the...
  10. Australian Type R Order/Info Thread

70k is insane, even in this market! The dealer I spoke to about cars coming in Jan said there were 700+ coming in the first year. I wish he had of found that piece of paper to confirm! I agree with you about Honda vs Toyota pricing. I fully expected mid to high 60s given the other models in the...
  11. Australian Type R Order/Info Thread

Has anyone had any updates? I am hearing cars will be coming in Jan with prices to "start with a 7". But havent heard this myself from a credible source. Anything in the 70s is a MASSIVE jump from the FK8 and completley out of touch with both the competition and the price in Japan. It actually...
  12. Backup plans - what's yours?

It does. The Civic is a bigger, more practicle car and I like the interior more on the FL5. I have driven both (fk8) and you are really splitting hairs when it comes to being a daily driver. The FK8 finished up around $59k. Rumour has it the FL5 will "start with a 7". If that is true and Honda...
  13. Backup plans - what's yours?

Not to mention track warranty. I'm waiting for price to be released for the CTR in Aus before I decide but the i30n is pretty compelling.
  14. Backup plans - what's yours?

Luckily we have the i30 hatch in Australia so that will be my back up. Can't get around the sedans looks. From what I'm hearing there maybe as much as a $20k saving! i30 premium hatch is $54k incl gov charges, the civic is tipped to be starting with a 7!
  15. Cutaway of the mysterious intake box

I think this can be the only explanation. Protecting the turbo from dripping water coming from the bonnet vent. The plastic would be less likely to corrode over time also.
  16. Drift King and the 2023 Civic Type R

Is that not considered hot!? People are just glossing over these like it's not a big deal. Whats the go?
  17. Drift King and the 2023 Civic Type R

I noticed the bouncing in the Piston Heads first look video also. They are bobbing all over the place. Praise Odin for individual mode this time around.
  18. Drift King and the 2023 Civic Type R

From 14:30 on (when he has the passenger) the stability is off completely.
  19. FL5 Type R is last one?

LOL. You're right though! Right idea, but they are rushing the execution. This isn't localised to the US. The Australian capital has annouced the will be no ICE vehicles sold within the Australian Capital Territory (state where the capital is located) by 2035.
  20. Drift King and the 2023 Civic Type R

He touches on how he feels like this might be the last one (ICE Type R). He mentions how it feels deliberate and made with purpose. He also refers to electrification of new cars from 2035 a couple times and how he grew up in a good era. I cant help but feel bad for the future of car...
