THIS. People would stop shitting on the car's looks, if people read this and just gave an opportunity to see the car in person.
Described my feeling perfectly.
The real problem is the FK8 used prices are up there with the FL5 new. On equal price, FL5 is more car especially considering that it is new. Paying 50k (atleast in Canada) for a used (potentially beaten up) FK8 is absurd, no matter how great or Gundam it is.
Hopefully this changes eventually ...
This is hilarious lol. I was there the same day, same dealership looking at this car. The red does look amazing and really compliments the design. I couldn't stop staring and was a bit awkward as the service techs were busy doing their work, while I was just standing there looking.
I don't mind the dual tip, but it just looks odd with all that space around it in the diffuser. Giving me a "someone messed up" feeling with the gap. Sound is great.
The GR86 transmission is NO where close to the Type R in terms of feel and quality. How do I know? I owned a BRZ for 5 years. Transmission was a love/hate relationship. Sometimes it would get so notchy I would have to skip a gear. There were days I wanted to stop shifting, it was that bad.
All...
So now that Honda is not showing the car at the autoshow, where can we go see it in person? Any ideas? I called Honda corp and they have no clue. Told me to call dealers.
This was the one! I'm going to correct my facts, I remembered incorrectly. Yeah not sure if it sold, but they were adamant about me just taking a look and giving them a cheque.
True story: There was a 2019 Type R in Stouffville, ON. Grey with 100km and a $7,000 claim. Asking price $49,000.
I was curious and asked the dealer. They said its in the show room come see. Can I test drive? No. Can I alteast start the engine? No.
What lol. Used sports car with a decent claim...
Plus the reliability. I was actually considering the N at some point thanks to two of my friends buying one. Then both their stock engines blew. wtf lol.
The N was off the list after that.
Agreed. The fact that the FL5 catches up to this thing is pretty incredible. Have you seen the Trophy R interior? Its pretty much gutted out with two bucket seats and a racing harness.
