that’s what I thought also and why I made this thread. May be something you have to actually go to the dealer for though to get a new one if you blow the original motor for the vehicle. I can find used ones but I’m specifically looking for how to get a brand new one and if anyone has actually...
Has anyone being able to purchase new engines and/or transmissions from Honda for the Type R, FL5 or FK8?
Anyone that’s blown a motor or a transmission what is the typical route for replacement?
Was just looking into it in case I would ever need to buy a new engine or transmission for my car...
Looking to buy a pair of the OEM cable shifter bushings for an FL5. Destroyed mine when I installed the acuity cable shifter bushings and seems you cant buy these from Honda unless you buy the cables with them.
if anyone has the complete pair from when they removed and installed upgraded...
I just did my 9k mile oil change as well and didn’t notice anything significant come out this time around at all. Still took a sample and sending off to blackstone.
One thing I noticed though was when I wiped off the outside of the oil pain from excess oil that got on it..I noticed tiny flakes...
Owned Hondas my whole life. I’ve owned 3 different generation of Accords (99’ 4 cylinder, 05’ V6, and 21’ 2.0T) 2 S2000’s (1 of which I still currently own), 1 base manual 08’ civic, and now my FL5.
To be completely honest, I have found issues with every single one of them with the exception...
Been almost a year now on Jesters track tune and still loving it! I promise @Jester04 im still gonna get with you for a custom tune ? I didn’t plan on waiting this long from when we met, life has gotten in the way!
Do you happen to now a good shop in Orlando that you trust? I’m looking to bleed...
I probably only drive my car once or twice a week. Has full front clip PPF and is garage kept which helps greatly! I’m absolutely anal about keeping my cars clean though and I take pride in always having a clean car. So, every time I drive it, when I get home I use spray detailer or spray wax...
That’s a lot of questions ?
as far as the driving dynamics of a front wheel drive car, unless you are consistently drifting, used to swinging the tail out on a rear drive car, or constantly launching the car at lights or drag racing, you won’t notice it much. I drive an S2000 and FL5. I get...
Recently switched to Amsoil 75w-90 transaxle and trans fluid. It’s different from the Amsoil manual synchromesh fluid. So far so good! Wasn’t getting any grinds but 3rd and 4th were feeling “odd” and bit crunchier than usual after 8k miles on the original Honda MTF. Both 3rd and 4th are silky...
The fitment looks ?! Nice review..I’m very hesitant to touch the suspension on the R as I personally find it really good stock. Will definitely take these into consideration though if I ever decide to make the jump
I don’t notice any rattle under boost but while decelerating, in the 3-4k rpm range, these cars do have a distinct engine vibration/resonance that can cause stuff to rattle. There are some pronounced vibrations while accelerating also that’s due to the unbalanced nature of this engine. Not...
Put a large down payment on mine and financed the rest. I see the argument for buying a car cash to avoid interest, however, I personally can’t justify removing 50k from my bank, which has been earning significant interest the last couple years, or selling investments to pay for a depreciating...
nice! Appreciate the math on that…seems like it really doesn’t make a significant difference so that’s good to know!
Overthinking is my personal pastime ?…was interesting to see the math on it that ProjectDD did above…no significant difference either way so that’s cool know. Just always...
I think what I said is being misread.
I didn’t say I was filling with 87. In my area, all three grades of gas (87,89, and 93) all use the same nozzle. I’ve actually never seen a gas pump with one nozzle per grade of gas. Most people who drive fill with 87. It’s a safe assumption that the...
