The additional $$$ isn't just for track performance though. The CTR is better at many other things, which is what you are paying some of that extra $$$ for.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but am very excited to share the update that my car is REPAIRED and back in action! (Or at least, will be back in action very soon, after the PPF is re-installed).

This is not accurate. It is difficult to find an FL5 in the US under $10k markup. It is more like $5-$10k MINIMUM. Maximum markup can be as high as $25k.
Per the US tracker website (Motoring Obsession), the MEDIAN markup in the US is $15k.
That being said, one advantage the US has is way more...
Convex mirrors are definitely not necessary.
Blind spots appear because, as you noted, people don't know how to set their side view mirrors properly.
