The worm gear is fine. The spring was strong and the pressure would cause the gear to squeeze out the grease. In the new fix the inject a TON of new grease and a revised spring. Should be fine.

I had an FK8 with fake sound before. You could still here in in comfort mode On the FL5, in Comfort, I personally can't hear it.

IIRC there are no special additives in the original Honda oil fill. It’s just got higher moly content because of the assembling lubricants. Honda hasn’t said anything about keeping “break-in” oil for any period of time or mileage. The oil filter and oil pickup mesh should stop any contamination...
