  1. What type of gas 87 or 91

If I recall correctly from my FK8 days, the Bosch ECU is programmed to reach torque targets based on throttle position and RPM. It uses the air charge to do math. It will not make more power if you use a higher octane than what the torque targets were designed with. In the FL5 that is 91...
  2. What type of gas 87 or 91

91 is the minimum you should use, and what the car is tuned for.
  3. Do you trust the estimated Range / low fuel light warning?

I've noticed something in the last 2 months of ownership. I feel like the range is very conservative. I did a test today and ran the range down to 16km = 10 miles remaining. The car only took 39L of fuel (10.3 gallons). The tank is rated at 47L = 12.7 gallons. Anyone else notice this? Or is my...
  4. FL5 infotainment reliability

I upgraded from a 2020 FK8. I can confidently say the FL5 is one thousand bazillion times better. I had it get laggy once and be weird, but power cycling the car fixed it. I think it was because it was still brand new and I was messing around with a lot of stuff. Unlike the FK8, it auto...
  5. Any higher-mileage Type R owners here who daily it as their only car, or plan to?

The running costs you are complaining about are costs for a performance car. The tires are expensive because the car is designed to run laps. It's got almost twice the power and torque of a ND2 miata. You can get a set of blank discs that aren't two pieces for cheap, alongside generic brake...
  6. Is there a jack that can reach the front point easily?

I got a pair of low profile ramps. Drive the car onto those and use a quality floor jack.
  7. Anna Engine Plant

Plant only makes engines, not cars. He can't help ya there
  8. Recommended floor mats

    Thank you sir!
  9. Service Intervals

105k miles for spark plug and valve adjustment IIRC
  10. Interesting Stories with your FL5

Is it Boost Blue. My old Boost Blue FK8 got tons of looks and thumbs up. No one looks twice at my SGP FL5.
  11. Installed flashing third brake light module

I have noted this to, usually an older WRX.
  12. 8” wide wheels?

Another budget option that is wider is the 18x9.5 ET45 Motegi MR145
  13. Installed flashing third brake light module

I'm going to be honest. To each their own, but seeing these in traffic always irritate me. Constantly flashing at every brake press. In Europe, the brake lights flash during rapid stops, not every stop.
  14. Hit and run

I'd just leave it until you find a replacement door tbh
  15. Recommended floor mats

Bump! Anyone have pictures of the Tuxmat installed?
  16. 2025 Civic Type R - No Additions / Changes for 2025

Probably don't want to change the supply chain for Japan + port LogR over to the the android automotive unit.
  17. Springs + Tall Tires

Your tires are 5.1% taller than OEM 265/30/19. I don't think it is wise to go to any lowering springs. Lowering springs would be the opposite of what you are trying to achieve in terms of comfort as well. Doesn't make sense to lower the car and have taller tires IMHO
  18. Has the 2nd gear grind happened to your FL5 yet?

I''ve had two grinds while driving casually in mine. Nothing when I shift fast at redline. Quite peculiar 24" with 1600 miles.
  19. Model Year 2025 Civic Type R FL5 Shipments from Japan

I could be wrong but I sense there is a minor possibility that the 2025 Type R's won't get the new infotainment with google integration. Only because Honda would have to port the LogR app to work with the new version of android automotive vs the old system which is just android. Again, a...
