I will likely end up with the APR Airdam and GT250 wing...It's clean and functional -- and reasonably priced for the quality. I'll skip the skirts and spats though

For SRF. Do 2 bottles. SRF doesn’t mix well with other fluids, so you want to be comprehensive. Maintenance bleeds can then be a single bottle. When shipping SRF back, but it in a Freezer bag or any other good Ziploc. SRF bottles don’t re-seal well, and it will leak. If you get bored and wanna...
  3. Limp Mode on first track day

It’s HPFP. Had the same thing happen in September after about 18 track days. It was occurring in the same spot, on a straight, on my second flyer. Almost every session. The first time it happened was in June, but then it never happened again until September (with ~5 track days in between), when...
  4. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

What do you mean quickly? That’s a very extensive life for a rotor by any metric outside of a Miata/86. Rotors have a minimum thickness. You also need to check for deep, edge to edge crack, as well as any lips.
  5. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

This is a fresh set for the new year. My past set was ready for retirement after 23 days and like 700 laps. I’ve had the CSG C1X for a few months now. I got them back on November. Was just waiting to install everything fresh for the new year.
  6. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

    Nothing super exciting ?
  7. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

They have full Sonic boxes and air tools, but I usually bring my own speciality stuff!
  8. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

Now to just get my rear pads/rotors done, and CRS v2 mounted, and we are good to go for the season until some other things show up ?
  9. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

Yes and no haha. My house in VA has a lift (MaxJax), but this is at The Shop in Seattle. It’s a membership. $150/mo for unlimited lift (5 lifts) and wash bay (2 wash bays) use.
  10. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

The PWR is pretty legit ?. Excited to see results on track combined with the PWR Track Spec Radiator. Also got my fresh rotors and pads on. CSG C1X and Girodisc. Both pre-burnished and ready to rip.
  11. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

I lied...I'm installing tomorrow :). Realized I needed to burn a day of leave, soo a day of wrenching is now on the table.
  12. HKS Turbo for FL5

This is what drives most people to pay the Spoon, HKS, etc., tax. Not necessarily logic :)
  13. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

I’ll definitely lose. I doubt I’ll get to mine until March when I prep the rest of the car
  14. All the Available Aftermarket FMICs are Bad

My PWR goodies showed up :)

Consider the Conti ECF over the RT615K+. It's an antiquated tire, that just not that great at anything. ECF is a bit more modern. Very street friendly, and I kid you not, I couldn't kill it. ECF is my go to recommendation for anything looking for a street friendly, decently paced lapping tire...
  16. Racing the FL5 Type R with all OEM spec parts on Laguna Seca

EN's -- because of their larger turbo -- pull a bit better on the top end, where our cars start to slow down. You can see it on the 0-150-0 test too. An EN on an OTS tune =running a slower lap, runs about 6-7 mph faster than me on the front straight up the Ridge with a slower exit speed and...

I'm not sponsored :) -- just a believer! I do have some fender stickers, but not a livery. I just like to recommend things I have really positive experiences with -- in all walks of life -- and if it helps others also have that same positive experience AND prevent potential pitfalls, that's a...

You can even add OEM Aero if the car is in the same class -- like the STI Wing on a WRX. Makes negative sense. The main driver -- IMO -- for every rule choice in Sport is to prevent the FL5 from absolutely walking away from the EN
  19. Racing the FL5 Type R with all OEM spec parts on Laguna Seca

The heat begins to discolor them — shims help with pads that transfer the heat to the calipers — which is why many run the Paragon shims with Paragon (aka Winmax) pads. The CSG pads just have a better thermal capacity and don’t transfer as much heat to the calipers — the Girosdics help with this...
  20. CIVICXI *NOVICE* Track Thread!

If the deal is good enough - don’t pass it up, but I don’t recommend a Super200 for a first timer. It hides a lot of mistakes and lets you get away with some stuff that develops bad habits. If the deal is good enough, maybe sideline the tires after you get some more experience, and start out...
