C12 is a legit track only compound. Not recommended for street use at all — like don’t drive to and from the track on it. It will work, but wear is hyper accelerated outside of optimal temps. If your trailer, then go for it.
Quick note on street driving 200TW track tires. It’s totally fine — any of them. That’s the point. Some are more street friendly than others, all will have some hydroplane resistance. It’s when tread depth gets low you need to be cautious about rain.
You will not heat cycle our your tires by...
Didn't measure -- just going back to construction and design. Pad life + Lack of Brownbos + Lack of Overheated Pads also demonstrates the effectiveness of the setup.
CPs are dead quiet. That's your hybrid option. The C1X is also super quiet. Everyone once in a while I hear the tiniest squeal, but it's not regular and certainly not obnoxious. Nothing like what I experienced with PMU Racing999's or Carbotechs on other vehicles, where I was embarrassed at every...
The CP is technically a Street Pad, but it can handle track use very well. It definitely has the most pad life on the street, because it operates the best at those lower temps. But, when comparing on track to on track, it does not have the same life as the C1X.
The rears are just slightly...
**UPDATE**
Added another 70 Laps to this set up.
C1X Pads -- now at 252 Laps across 10 Track Days and multiple new PBs
Girodisc Rotors -- now at 602 Laps across 23 Track Days
The PRL intercooler is a overweight brick. That's where most of the bad rap for FMICs are coming from.
PWR, J's Racing, and RV6 are more of an appropriate weight with better flow.
I'd be mindful that cooling systems developed/tested in tandem, are likely to produce better results because...
Yes, but it's a vastly quicker and simpler procedure -- aka you can basically accomplish it on your out lap and go...or a couple quick stops on the street.
@DustyDan -- as you might have seen elsewhere -- I recommend CSG Pads. The CSG CPB's sound right up your alley. Great on the street and work well on track. They are a bit pricey, but you don't have to make the sacrifices of the other pads.
The CPs for the front are pre-burnished/bedded -- but CPs really didn't need anything in the first place.
Many of CSG's compounds are coming pre-burnished now -- you can see them denoted with a "B" at the end of the compound. It' makes them pretty turn key. I just sent it with the C1XB's.
