Dealers who are FN people over are playing the short game. Long term they wont survive. A few may pay $20k over now but at the cost of many who recognize the demented practice for what it is and say F-OFF and exclude the dealer from all future purchases. Expose the practice - sunlight is the best medicine.

I can assure you that I have definitely taken a mental note of all the dealerships up here that have been playing the markup game. Dealership markup is not supposed to be a thing here yet quite a few are putting 5-10K markups right on the window sticker.

The other common practice is moving car amongst there network of dealerships and selling cars “used” with like 200km on them. So you find all sorts of off brand vehicles at different makers lots. You want that new Golf R? Toyota just happens to have a used one with 165km on it for 15k over list.

I hope all those dealerships go out of business. I’m definitely not going to feel bad when all the other manufacturers pull what ford is doing by starting a new brand ala Tesla like FordE for all there new electric vehicles and cut out the dealerships and sell direct to us.

You sure about that? Plenty of people have been buying them. The waits were pretty long in spring, but it's easing up now since a bunch of new-ish used ones flooded the market due to high trade values. 2022 Clubs were sold out by June or July IIRC.
