I'm pleased to be able to confirm this is not accurate.
I received my official invoice via email just now, at 5:12PM, in advance of delivery.
Build date on my car is.
Production Date 07/07/2025

The above was copy/pasted direct from the invoice which has all details VIN# Engine # etc.

So it's accurate.

j.
Thanks for sharing, positive news build date is not too long ago.

Enjoy, hope the daily drive brings you daily joy.

Do you have a delivery date yet?

No, not yet.

I'm hoping for this coming Saturday morning, but I think that might be a long-shot. More likely sometime next week I think.

Well, this happened yesterday afternoon.
Message from my dealer.

11th Gen Honda Civic Australian 2025 Type R orders. Check-in here. Screenshot 2025-09-05 at 9.32.21 am

He confirmed it arrived with a full tank of fuel, which is apparently very unusual according to him.
He was going to take it across the road to fill it with 98, but there's no room in the tank.

He also confirmed it came off the truck and after his walk-around checks, was moved by him, into the workshop for undercover storage and a quick fluids check.
Today is detailing and registration. (will not leave the premises for this)

So, the first time it leaves the dealership premises, will be with me.
At 9am tomorrow morning .

Can't ask more than that.

Your dealer sounds like he is excited for you and making the effort to update you. I have had no call or email from my dealer since I was contacted by Honda. I don't really get the indifference/lack of interest.

How long have you had to wait since you first decided to buy one?

Excited for you. Hope you can sleep tonight.

He really is. I'm pretty jaded when it comes to the dealership experience generally. I've bought a lot of cars over the years. But this dealership (2nd car from them) and this particular guy... have been exceptional. Credit where it is due and I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

As for how long I have had to wait since I decided to buy. I'm not sure I fully understand the question. When I heard rumblings about a final 2025 release, I was keen straight away and did everything I could to make it happen, including selling another vehicle to free up some funds and then sending myself broke with the balance. I've always been watching the FL5, but this final release was the first time I was fully committed. Price-wise I would have been a lot better off buying years ago.

Agree, always worth acknowledging when someone goes above and beyond.

You answered my question re wait time thanks. Not sure, but last deliveries were in 2023? That may not be 100% accurate, but point is some significant wait times in the past.

I am sure you will get to enjoy all aspects of the delivery process tomorrow.

Right. So.
Picked it up on Saturday morning 9am.
And pretty much been hitting all the good roads around me ever since (and I'm lucky that there are a lot of them on the coast south of Sydney). 440klm on the odo so far.
Suffice to say, My expectations, while high. Have been surpassed.

Happy to answer any questions.

Cheers,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Nice to hear you have received your CTR and had chance to drive it on some of the great South Coast roads. I plan to take my CTR down the coast roads South of Sydney. Seem like great roads to enjoy twists and turns without having to max out on speed. Congratulations.

Great to hear, “My expectations, while high. Have been surpassed.”

Anything specific that is a stand out for you?

Thanks

Feel like you need the Integra damper module?

Good question.
The seats, the shifter, the handling at 8/10ths.
I know how predictable that little list is, but it's true. Those 3 are world-class.

But what it actually is I suppose, is the breadth of the performance envelope more generally.
It's bettered my expectations. It's both better on the freeway and at slow boring stuff, AND better at the other end of the scale than I was thinking it would be. There's almost no trade-off.

Well, yes and no. I've been thinking about that while driving over the weekend quite a bit.

Yes, because the only usable mode available is "indivdual" with suspension set to comfort.

No, because the above set-up is damned near perfect. for spirited weekend blasts kind of driving.

I really do think (from what I have read online) that the mod would be worth it. I'd probably end up using the middle setting; but it would be nice to have usable options on either side.
But I'm satisfied with my "individual" settings to the point where the idea of doing the ITS module has slipped a long way down the future mods list.

I’ve seen most serious drivers on track keep it in sport mode and still they are getting tossed around like they are on a trampoline. I think if I (as a compete newbie to track racing) can’t tolerate the level of bounce on my first track days then o probably consider it.
